  1. I think you're supposed to use end of season averages!
  2. I think Birmingham are clearly stronger than last year, but don't think they'll make top 6!
  3. It's never too early for a rider to aim for a number one spot!
  4. Might not get many heat wins, but that team should also avoid last places!
  5. Agreed, Palin, Gilkes, Thompson's etc would all have been signed if the minimum was 3.00!
  6. As each team only gets 2 home & 2 away matches with handicap racing available, shouldn't cause a massive loss on earnings!
  7. If that's the case bit of a shame a rider improves in a "development" league but gets dropped because he improved too much?
  8. Not sure how the 3.00 rule stops riders stepping up? There's always been newcomers to the league when there was a 3.00 minimum!
  9. He's on a low average because he had his worst ever UK season in 2019! If he gets back Tony s best would he a great signing! Maybe promoters don't see him improving again?
  10. Not a major risk, if a 3.00 riders scores poorly, they'll always be another to try later on in the season!
  11. Scored very well at Scunny compared to Newcastle, so if he's a confidence rider riding a full season at Scunny should see his average raise!
  12. If you're referring to Allen & Auty, I'll say - if the "upcoming young gun" scored more points than the "worn out 30 plus year old" he'd be a number one wouldn't he!
  13. I agree, I think Scunthorpe look a good team! Put them down for 4th / 5th place!
  14. Any rider from 2nd to 5th in the averages can ride at number 5 though!
  15. If Ipswich can fit in Nicholls at reserve he'd be my top priority for a team place!
  16. Eastbourne 1st - 3rd Great top two, if Brennan can score like last year, will be a very potent team! Not the strongest at reserve but have plenty of potential there! Glasgow 2nd Best rider in the league, good reserve in Jensen, Bailey has plenty of promise but there's also plenty of question marks in the top 5! Edinburgh 1st - 6th Very strong top two, reserves look very decent, if newcomers perform could challenge for the title, if not scrape into top 6! Poole 3rd / 4th Hard to judge as have two places to fill, but have strongest 3rd heat leader in league! Scunthorpe 4th / 5th Weakest number one in the league, but have a great reserve in Lambert & the most promising 2.00 rider! Leicester 5th / 6th Strongest second strings in the league, but alongside Redcar have the weakest reserves! Somerset 7th / 8th Good top 2, exciting riders behind them, but pretty weak in the bottom three! Kent 7th - 9th Middle of the road side, Gilkes is very promising! Birmingham 8th / 9th A good number one & probably the strongest reserve in the league! Berwick 10th / 11th Very solid, potential in their reserves but weak at the top, home advantage should help! Redcar 10th / 11th Strongest top 2/3 in the league, but also weakest reserves in the league! Newcastle 12th Strong reserves but very weak everywhere else!
  17. I always assumed Birmingham picked Jack Thomas at reserve rather than Danyon Hume due to points limit, but just looked and seen they could've used Hume instead of Thomas & still been under the points limit! Odd they wouldn't want Hume!
  18. Because Champ teams are quicker to bring in a new foreigner than use a promising British rider!
  19. Wallinger would be a great signing on a low ave, don't really see any promise in Rutherford though!
  20. 2019 away aves, Ledwith 5.26/5.68 whereas Morley 8.98/9.46, so can't agree with you on that!
  21. Depends on the opposition to a degree, against Belle Vue both second strings are "reserve standard"!
  22. Not harsh at all, just gave an opinion on a Speedway forum (what it's there for)!
  23. I was surprised when he quit Kent last year, was scoring very well at the time!
