Leicester Lions 2022 Line up
szkocjasid replied to FishersGate's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In defence of Coles, Glasgow away must be the toughest place for a Championship reserve, as their reserves have 5.00 averages -

With lots of clubs struggling to find replacement riders from abroad to cover injuries, it would make sense to lower the points limit & use more of the top NL riders, but the Promotors don't often seem the think too far ahead, as shown by binning the RS system after one season. -

Coles has never averaged above 3.00 in the Champ, while Clegg hasn't dropped below 3.00 since his first season. Can't compare Coles racing against the weakest NL side & Clegg against a play-off chasing Champ side in my view! -

Leicester have had multiple chances to give a NDL rider a shot when Rowe was missing, preferring to use guest reserves! I believe they'll only use a rider from their "development" team if it makes them stronger. -
Redcar vs. Leicester (The Jube) 15/7/22
szkocjasid replied to Gringo's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Some of these anti Max Clegg comments seem a bit harsh! I agree he's had a dissapointing start for Leicester, but he's been off the bike for a while, so can understand that. To suggest he's not "Champ standard" & should be replaced with Tom Spencer is just daft. Spencer's NL ave is like 3 points below Connor Coles. While Coles Champ ave is about 2.5 points below Clegg. Not sure how a rider with a 4.5 ave is not "Championship standard" -
Becker is 5th in the Wolves averages so couldn't be picked!
-
Even if Wolves aren't worried about Masters aggravating his injury, there's also a decision to make is a half fit Masters better than a fully fit Worrall for example?
-
Not at all, the TM can pick any rider from his top 4. If it was me I would never have picked Masters!
-
Indeed, it makes more sense for riders without a home GP round (Australia, USA) to get wildcards in countries with more than one round like Poland, than GB who only have one round.
-
Only if other countries did the same. If Poland can have 3 x Polish wildcards, only fair for GB to get one.
-
This round isn't being raced at King's Lynn
-
No doubt, just think it's best for the TM to rest him, make sure he's gonna be fit for the rest of the season, especially play-offs.
-
Surprised Masters is in this meeting, seems the obvious time to rest him, with Wolves having a strong top 4!
-
I thought that too! If MPT & Andersen are injured, should it not be Harris & Ostergaard?
-
He's still in their declared team, but they can use Hume every week & don't really need to replace him.
-
Yet Peterborough picked Jenkins when Edwards was available!
-
In 2003 the Elite & Premier sides all raced in the "regional mini-league" competition. Can't remember it's name off the top of my head though!
-
Best options are Bowtell, Shanes or Clegg?
-
Official the declaration has Rowe as RS & Hume as No 8. While a new number 8 may never get a ride, if Hume got injured in the play-off final, imagine having to debut Clouting it Beebee in the second leg at Belle Vue? Could be the difference between Witches winning the league or not!
-
I disagree, if Hume missed a match & Beebee had to ride could cost Ipswich badly! He's only a NL second string & there's far stronger options out there!

Averages (Premiership vs Championship)
szkocjasid replied to baiden's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
"So what?" My thoughts exactly - if you want to use the speedway star aves go ahead! You never claimed they were the official averages. Also they will be more accurate as they include more matches (cup etc) -
Sheffield vs Peterborough 14/7
szkocjasid replied to Purplepanthernotred's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That's far to sensible a solution for them to use that lol! -
Gotta side with Mulford over how he was treated when organising flights / vans to race in a match, then getting dropped for Edwards at short notice! Plenty of options available if they need a new number 8: Bowtell, Clegg, Shanes, Bickley?

Ipswich v Belle Vue 14th July
szkocjasid replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't think they should be allowed to change the riding order once declared. There's no need & just messes up everyone's programmes. -
Poole Pirates vs Glasgow Tigers 13th July.

Hardly "second season syndrome" he's had a fantastic year & having one disappointing match doesn't change that
