  1. Well 1) Brennan must've been fit enough to race based on his score 2) Aces would've won even with Bailey riding!
  2. After 2 matches Basso has a 4.73 ave, current 20 match rolling aves for Andersen is 6.75 & Nicholls 6.56!
  3. Should Aces have given Bailey a shot tonight? I know Brennan is happy to race, but if he's not 100% fit, could give a squad member a go?
  4. If Rowe is ill does he not have to take a 10 day break for a "non speedway injury"? If so, just use Hume & don't announce Rowe is ill! Actually there's no advantage to saying Rowe is ill, just announce / tell Hume you're giving him a shot because you have faith in his ability / form. Would do far more for his confidence than saying "we're only using you because Rowe is ill".
  5. Glasgow away will be tough for any second string / reserve, as they have no weak links. That said Edwards rode a blinder! But certainly Bowtell should be aiming to score more than 0.
  6. I can only see one change worth making to strengthen the team: replacing Congreave with anyone who can average over 2.00. Can't see any likely signing that will be stronger than using guests for BWD. Certainly no one else in the team should he dropped imo.
  7. With 2 guests for their missing Kiwi's, they'll have a chance!
  8. After his performance at Glasgow, maybe Jason Edwards is the strongest option after all?
  9. The outcome doesn't change the risk. I could run across the motorway blindfolded, if I made it to the other side, would you say there was no risk, over the top example I know. I agree it didn't cost Birmingham, but was a risk.
  10. I think LR clearly made the wrong decision not giving Shanes an extra ride. If he really wanted to give Pearson 4 rides, he still could have put Shanes in heat 12 & said to Pearson "if we have win the match before heat 14, I'll give you your 4th ride". Unnecessary risk in my view leaving Pearson in heat 12 & none of the comments supporting it have changed my mind!
  11. No offence to Jason Edwards, but surely they could have got a better guest at reserve? James Sarjeant seems an obvious one!
  12. As Newcastle are over 3 points below the 42 limit, I don't think signing a new reserve is the answer to avoiding the wooden spoon!
  13. You can't expect Kennedy to remain at reserve if he scores big each week!
  14. Apparently the TM didn't want to give his in form reserve extra rides?
  15. 1) I believe Mildenhall signed Warren before Kent were running 2) based on his scoring last year, you wouldn't have expected a score like that, he's certainly improved over the winter
  16. I'm surprised Glasgow didn't put Bailey at 6 & Nicol at 7. It appears Nicol could do with getting the easier rides to build his confidence up. Us Bailey is good enough to beat stronger opposition riders, especially at home.
  17. Yes, but Morley could be a temporary replacement for Gilkes!
  18. 3 possible heat advantages for Edinburgh, heats 13, 15 & a tac sub ride. Apart from that Glasgow would be much stronger than Edinburgh.
  19. It's a confusing one, last year to get a 1st average, 4H & 4A matches were needed. This year just 8 matches are needed (home & away split doesn't matter). Basso averaged 5.00 from his Poole matches, which was quite convenient, otherwise when would they have changed the rules for assessed averaged riders? With Basso being on a 5.00, doesn't matter if it's an assessed ave or an 8 match ave. Imagine this situation with Pawlicki at Coventry in 2010/2011, Rosco drops him to keep his assessed ave, but rules are changed & he's no longer on an assessed ave!
  20. I thought the rules say your number 8 (Hume) has to replace the RS (Rowe)?
  21. Lawson's average will go up in May, so won't be able to guest for Kennett much longer!
  22. Not if an Ipswich win over King's Lynn helps Peterborough progress!
  23. Can't understand why Ipswich aren't giving Danyon Hume as chance in the team? He outscored Rowe at Leicester on Saturday (Rowe's home track)!
  24. Leicester don't have to be good away to finish in the top 6, which they are bound to do! So it's clearly not all over for the Lions!
