  1. Very likely wooden spoon for Armadale this year. Should at least beat Plymouth at home to avoid ending up with zero points!
  2. Got the 7th highest 2022 ave in the league, so can't be doing that bad?
  3. With Glasgow guaranteed a play-off spot, there's no reason why they can't experiment with the riding order. Got nothing to lose!
  4. What has happened to Jordan Palin? Kennedy started at reserve & scored lots, Lambert dropped to reserve & scored even more. Now Palin at reserve & scoring no better?
  5. Seeing how his form has dropped sharply, I think Glasgow made a mistake leaving Bailey at 7 once he was the highest averaged reserve, same with Joe Thompson at Leicester. Moving them to 6, with the weaker reserves (Nicol & Rowe) to 7, would have given them harder rides to prepare them for the jump into the top 5! Also could've meant it'd take longer for them to move out of the reserve berth, so once they finally moved into the top 5, they'd be more ready for it? Bailey & Thompson's current low scores certainly aren't helping their teams or the riders confidence you'd think? Also Nicol going to no 7 earlier, should help him score more points & find his form sooner!
  6. Ostergaard hasn't ridden at 5 this year, so can't say he wasn't cutting it there!
  7. Don't know how anyone would prefer Congreave 0.67 (0.67) over Bickley 3.20 (4.56). While Newcastle are still the weakest team in the league, at least they're slowly getting stronger.
  8. I have no issue with Mildenhall using a guest, if that's what the rules allow. Otherwise as soon as one team gets "special dispensation" then everyone else would want it. Like Glasgow getting an awarded victory after 9 heats, so Redcar expect the same & it's not allowed. Sticking to the rules saves loads of hassle imo
  9. Can't blame Sheffield for that! But does show a flaw in having to use a RS.
  10. But clubs won't know who their weakest main rider is that early on. Fans would no doubt complain that the best rider was only used 4 times! For some teams it's obvious, others not so much!
  11. Can't really get a new average straight away, get a new average on a Monday, but programmes for a Thursday match may have been printed already!
  12. I reckon a pairs event should have your best pair in every hear. Taking a RS with you makes sense for tape exclusions or injuries. But I guess it'd be harder to get them to travel for no races!
  13. Biggest problem with these individuals is 8 & 12 mam race formats don't work well. Sone riders meet twice, others don't meet at all. If you run an individual GP could go with top 16 averaged riders for each round?
  14. Shanes, Morris & Nielsen = 22 pts Bowtell, Coles & Morley = 5 pts Pickering, Sedgmen & Wells = 22 pts Barker, Andersen & Nicholls = 33 pts Despite Pickering top scoring, it was the lower half of the team that won it for Birmingham it seems!
  15. "deluded" is a bit harsh, everyone is entitled to their own opinion! On paper Birmingham should be able to score 51, only if they all ride to their best, that never seems to happen with the Brummies though!
  16. Not sure why a club should get "special dispensation" for a guest, according to the rules they should either be allowed a guest or not! Rules should be black & white and easy to understand!
  17. Based on Joe Thompson's recent form I've spotted a flaw with the rolling averages dropping from 20-10 matches by the end of the season. If Joe races the last 8-10 matches in the team he could have a 3.00 ave for next year, if he races the last 8-10 matches at reserve he could have a 6.00 ave for next year! Sometimes riders will go from team to reserve throughout the season (Kennedy / Lambert / Palin) which should even itself up. But as the first half of the fixtures are forgotten, could make a big difference for 2023 starting averages!
  18. Not sure that would make much difference: 1) only top averaged rider has to run at 1. Numbers 2-5 can be any other top 5 rider. 2) Team managers rarely swap riders round based on form / opposition / tracks, so don't think giving more freedom would do anything! They already have options & don't use them!
  19. What I understand is, Atkins can't sign for Oxford till he's removed from the Plymouth 1-7. Plymouth can't remove him from their 1-7 till they sign a replacement. Plymouth can't find anyone willing to drive to Plymouth for Tuesday's. I guess this means Atkins may have to sit out the rest of the season? Tbh I don't feel for him, he's left Plymouth in the lurch & it certainly seems childish to leave a club because you disagreed with the team manager. From what I've read of his Dad causing issues, not sure why Oxford would want to sign "Team Atkins"?
  20. Pickering has a higher average than Wells, but Birmingham could choose either rider to replace Vissing or Auty!
  21. Leicester could've used one of their NL riders instead of Edwards to save money!
  22. Much nicer way of dropping a rider than Sheffield, who pointed out Nielsen's failings!
  23. While I felt the signing of Smith for Congreave strengthened Newcastle, can't judge Smith on one match against the strongest reserve pairing in the league on form, I would certainly sign Bickley in place of Smith now. Very harsh to drop a rider after one match, but Newcastle must be desperate to strengthen up & avoid these 30+ home defeats.
