  1. Can't use r/r for a reserve, but he's bound to be in the top 5 from August
  2. I believe Berwick don't get a facility to raplace Knudsen, so had 3.75 (25% ofc his ave) to use for a guest replacement. That was the rule used for Poole & Glasgow when Smetana & Nowack didn't have visas
  3. Totally agree with you, don't see it as a clever move signing up Freeman. Showed promise with Armadale, but has gone backwards in a weaker NL this year with Belle Vue!
  4. Bad news for Riss. Luckily for Redcar, they will have far better guest options than Ipswich. Two matches left in July before the averages change: Scunthorpe (A) Troy Batchelor, Leon Flint, Hans Andersen or MPT (if fit)? Leicester (A) Josh Pickering?
  5. Summers was announced as a 28 day replacement for Thomas, so I assume that meant Thomas couldn't return for 28 days. As far as I'm aware Wright was not signed as a 28 day replacement so Scunny should be allowed to bring Aarnio back, pending management committee approval probably?
  6. Indeed it seems a very similar situation between Oxford & Scunthorpe. If Thomas can come back, while they keep Summers. Then Aarnio MUST be able to come back while keeping Wright, surely?
  7. In different places on the SpeedwayGB website I see Plymouth vs Glasgow & Plymouth vs Armadale in Aug 23rd. Does anyone know which fixture is on this date (or is it a double header)?
  8. Far from it, if the team is good enough to win by 20 points at home most weeks, they can afford to lose by 18 away & win the double!
  9. Must admit, I was looking forward to reading plenty of "I was wrong" comments about Max Clegg
  10. Not a fan of this rule: 1) basically it's brought in to stop riders / teams "cheating" 2) unfortunately if a rider is really ill, he then had to miss a week of racing - if I'm not well enough for work, I do t have to take a whole week off, so why do speedway riders? 3) if a rider is fit to return, but has to wait 7 days - means MORE GUESTS being used
  11. Coles seemed to do well in heat 2 at Scunthorpe, but struggled after in the tougher heats (as you'd expect)
  12. In defence of Coles, Glasgow away must be the toughest place for a Championship reserve, as their reserves have 5.00 averages
  13. With lots of clubs struggling to find replacement riders from abroad to cover injuries, it would make sense to lower the points limit & use more of the top NL riders, but the Promotors don't often seem the think too far ahead, as shown by binning the RS system after one season.
  14. Coles has never averaged above 3.00 in the Champ, while Clegg hasn't dropped below 3.00 since his first season. Can't compare Coles racing against the weakest NL side & Clegg against a play-off chasing Champ side in my view!
  15. Leicester have had multiple chances to give a NDL rider a shot when Rowe was missing, preferring to use guest reserves! I believe they'll only use a rider from their "development" team if it makes them stronger.
  16. Some of these anti Max Clegg comments seem a bit harsh! I agree he's had a dissapointing start for Leicester, but he's been off the bike for a while, so can understand that. To suggest he's not "Champ standard" & should be replaced with Tom Spencer is just daft. Spencer's NL ave is like 3 points below Connor Coles. While Coles Champ ave is about 2.5 points below Clegg. Not sure how a rider with a 4.5 ave is not "Championship standard"
  17. Becker is 5th in the Wolves averages so couldn't be picked!
  18. Even if Wolves aren't worried about Masters aggravating his injury, there's also a decision to make is a half fit Masters better than a fully fit Worrall for example?
  19. Not at all, the TM can pick any rider from his top 4. If it was me I would never have picked Masters!
  20. Indeed, it makes more sense for riders without a home GP round (Australia, USA) to get wildcards in countries with more than one round like Poland, than GB who only have one round.
