  1. Bickley for Stoneman fits in the averages!
  2. In most cases I'd suggest it's a "waste" of a heat leaders extra ride winning heat 8. For Redcar to have gained a point they'd have been looking for Wright to beat a heat leader in his extra ride & someone like Edwards or Andersen to win the "easier" heat 8. As it turned out Redcar were well beaten & their second strings were off form, so Wright's win in heat 8 probably saved them a heavier defeat!
  3. I'm talking about Leicester putting on the NLKOCF or Jubilee League final being raced in August, so there's not a large gap without racing. NLRC doesn't enter into the equation, apart from being a date the Lion Cubs can't race on.
  4. This riding order should help Bears get a losing bonus point (Wright in the easier heat 8), but lessens their chances of a win!
  5. I really hope it's the NL Cup final. Give these lads a prime date for a big meeting instead of the usual (being dumped till the end of the season)!
  6. Well they could race the NLKOCF or Jubilee league final in spare August date. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a blank August & a busy October.
  7. I agree Cook is better than Kerr, but Kerr could be better than r/r!
  8. Not sure why Ipswich continue using Batchelor at number 5. King is in better form (in both leagues) & should be able to cope better with heat 13. Always find it a shame when a stronger rider gets easier rides than a weaker team mate.
  9. Cook was stronger away 5.52 (6.10) than at home 4.47 (5.88). Compare that to Kerr at Lynn 5.14 (6.10) and away 4.00 (4.33)! Looks the wrong move to me, unless Cook was going to be out injured for a long time!
  10. Should be able to race the NL KOC final in August. Means they won't have to put it off until Leicester's play-off campaigns are over!
  11. I could not disagree more, if Holder want's to return to the GPs & qualifies, there's no reason he shouldn't be there. As for having accepted a wildcard in that final year, not sure what that means, as almost half of this year's field got wild card / reserve picks. Finally if the "new generation" want their chance, they need to beat the "old generation" and qualify for the GPs. Otherwise why should they be in there?
  12. So riders have to attend practice? In the last riders missed out when Poland had Friday fixtures! Have to disagree about Brennan being "very unlucky" not to get a wild card pick. The 3 wild cards all finished higher up in the qualifiers! Not sure why they'd have to take part in timed practices, these are to decide riding order for the top 16, not reserves!
  13. Should we read anything into Richard Andrews not getting a r/r ride (in heat 6)? If he beats Kieran Douglas (as you'd expect) Plymouth would have won by a point! Personally I think it's a big mistake using a reserve when a top 5 rider can get the r/r ride. If Abraham gets the extra ride but Andrews is the better rider on the day, it's a lost race for Andrews. However if Andrews gets the extra ride but it turns out Abraham is the better rider on the day, he can replace Andrews later on (twice if necessary) so no harm done!
  14. Kent didn't build a team with 4 x 3.00 riders. They had 2 x 3.00 riders at reserve, then Halder & Alcock as second strings on averages above 4.00. Unfortunately for Kent, Halder has struggled & Alcock who was averaging above 8.00 got injured before he got a new average.
  15. Are you sure? They've never counted before! Cup meetings haven't affected the averages for any clubs this season!
  16. Poole could drop any of their top 3 & it wouldn't be a bad choice! 3 strong riders, so one has to miss out!
  17. I think the argument is about Kerr guesting on the Tuesday, missing a KL match on the Thursday, then riding for Redcar on the Friday!
  18. I saw lots of comments on the updates about Sheffield being stronger without Cook, but as it turned out Howarth won heat 8 & Sedgmen scored 1 from his 3 RR rides!
  19. Have to agree, there's a massive gap between the NL & Champ. Just look at the scores of Bickley, McGurk & Coles. All 8-9 point riders in NL but are struggling to score anything in the Champ. Pijper being a sub 7.00 rider would be out of his depth as things stand. Champ needs to be weakened imo
  20. I've noticed the Lions race their last home match on Aug 6th, then have to wait to race play-off / KOC matches. Meanwhile the Lion Cubs have home matches on Sep 3rd & 10th. So no racing at Leicester for nearly a month & as soon as the play-offs can start, there's two weeks they can't race while the NDL team do! The first week in Sep is likely to be for the P/O QF, but surely by the second week they'd be wanting to race the SF of either competition? Doesn't seem great planning, may end up racing into October / November lol!
  21. Not at all, he was replaced by rider B so he can guest for rider C, simple NOT!!
  22. I agree Jenkins is a stronger rider, but with Bandits not in the play-off hunt, why not save money on travel expenses, while also giving one of the NL lads a go? That's my view anyway
