Richard Andrews missed the match at Armadale & he didn't get a ban!
-
If that's true, does he get a 28 day ban for witholding his services? Miss the end of the season for Poole?
-
Fredriksen in the top 5, has a better ave than Hook at reserve, if picking one of them has to be Lasse for me!

Poole Vs Glasgow 28/09/22 play off SF 1st leg

At home I'd agree with Cook at 5 & Brennan at 3. But at Poole could have been considered damage limitation, if they expected both to struggle in heat 13, leave Cook at 3 for an easier heat 12? Another option would have been Brennan at 3 with r/r at 4 (Cook 5). Knowing how strong Ben Cook has been at home recently, putting r/r at 4 would've meant Brennan getting his extra ride on the easier heat 14! -
Edinburgh - new home required….

A NL side as a 2nd team will always be poorly attended compared to a NL side as the only team. Could get more fans as there is no senior side to watch? Wether it's feasible financially, I have no idea. -
I'd certainly be disappointed if they scrapped the "rising star rule" one of the few good rules they've brought in recently imo. If there were two new teams (can't see it happening myself) I'd imagine the points limit would be lower to share the riders out?

Disagree with that comment, think both Hume & Mountain have progressed this year too. Plus Jack Thomas was going well for in his first Premiership campaign till he got injured! Get rid of the "rising stars" and these promising Brits may end up getting dropped. With all the issues with Brexit & Polish rules, it makes sense to have rules encouraging more Brits in teams.

Glasgow's key men for me are Brennan (gets a r/r ride) & Starke (could get 7 rides at reserve) and the will definitely need Bailey to beat Ablitt every time they meet! -

I think because Edinburgh have been running for 70+ years people are more concerned about keeping the club alive in the short term. If they get a new stadium NL team will be racing again too. -

Could the Edinburgh Monarchs run NL speedway out of Glasgow? Less dates needed, cheaper to run & keep the name alive? -
I was gonna say the same thing, except Poole lol!
-
For me the "rising star" rule works so well in the Prem. So naturally they'll get rid of it!

Jakobsen doesn't have a rolling ave (is using his 2018 ave) so could really do with missing Lynn's last home league match to keep him on a 5.04 ave for 2023. Like Coventry did with Przemek Pawlicki in 2010?
-
Well since the exact same thing happened last year with Poole sitting waiting for the Leicester vs Scunthorpe QF to be completed, I can't see why it would change now! If they didn't learn from their mistakes last year, what makes you think they'll learn from them now? Not a fan of play-offs (think league leaders should be champs) but if there here make it top 2/4/8/16 etc. qualify!

Problem with making sure both legs have equal amount of races is: 1) if a match in cancelled after 14 heats due to rain, do you re-run the whole meeting again? 2) if Glasgow got to heat 10 & was then cancelled, can't expect Poole to advertise a 10 heat 2nd leg & expect the same amount of fans to turn up!

After I had posted I remembered Morris was 5th in the averages!
-
Not really, the dates & tracks for the four matches were already decided! The final finishing order only decided who went where when!

Leicester V Edinburgh 24/922 7pm

As soon as I saw Nick Morris was injured I thought "I hope they give Richie Worrall heat 13" but expected they wouldn't! Reasons I thought that would be the right move. 1) giving the fans more value for money, seeing the best riders against each other more often. Surely similar quality of riders meeting means closer racing? 2) for a financial point if view, assuming Worrall is paid more per point than his second string / reserve team mates, why give him the easier rides & increase your wages? 3) the humanitarian part of me thinks it's nicer to give stronger riders hard rides & weaker riders easier rides 4) Leicester had won on aggregate at that stage -
Personally don't agree with extending the cut-off date, they've had from March to September to race 7 home meetings, if you can't manage that - tough! You may miss out on the play-offs. However if you're good enough you can still make the top 4 (as Leicester have done) with 2 home matches to go!
