  1. Tonight's match will count for the April averages (up to & Inc Mar 23rd) so unless Blodorn has an awful match, Lidsey is almost certain to drop to reserve for April!
  2. Just like to remind everyone I said Brennan would be starting the season at reserve lol!
  3. Well since some STRONGLY disagreed with my theory that Brennan & Hume (irrelevant when Rew's average was set at 5.00) would start at reserve & seeing Brennan has been announced at number 6 tonight, I'd just like to say "I told you so"
  4. I'll have to look up the details, but after the 1990 Scottish Open was rained off it was staged in 1991. After a 4TT round there were 4 further races (team mates against each other) so each rider got 5 rides & met every other rider.
  5. Watching Redcar vs Oxford on BSN & Nathan Stoneman made a great start in heat 4 to lead Erik Riss for half a lap & finishes 2nd beating Jordan Jenkins. More of that & Berwick will be happy with their reserve! Stoneman looked good in heat 8 too. Jenkins had to work hard to beat him, but Nathan beat Roynon!
  6. Don't remember that, it's good they've got 7 former Diamonds then
  7. Shouldn't happen this season with fewer fixtures, but with Speedway you never know! I have noticed most teams have big gaps early on then get busier in August - I'm guessing that is so they are race-fit for the play-offs? Better hope there's not bad weather in August!
  8. Kent actually have a stronger tail than last season (3 x 3.00 riders), but have sacrificed top end strength (losing Bowtell / Clegg) to achieve it.
  9. I rate Gilkes very highly & expect him to be second best RS
  10. Some pro - Wolves comments for all the doubters: They have the strongest RS & probably the strongest second strings in the league! I've read many comments about Flint not being great at Monmore Green, while I'd agree he would have expected to do better at home based on his Championship form, compare his home ave 4.11 (5.11) to returning rising stars Jason Edwards 2.86 (4.00) & Jordan Jenkins 2.56 (3.36) - he's still the strongest!
  11. I don't understand all this talk of needing to make changes as: 1) they've not ridden any matches yet 2) they must have faith in these 7 riders to do well or they wouldn't have signed them!
  12. I've heard that all winter, but as the riders listed isn't in average order or alphabetical, I can only assume it's riding order?
  13. From Belle Vue's twitter: The starting averages are out and @DanBewley starts 2023 at No.1... but he's got some competition! Dan Bewley 8.91 Norick Blödorn 5.45 @Jaimon_lidsey 5.16 @CWR_26 6.26 @BradyKurtzBkr 8.24 (C) @TomBrennan27 4.40 Jake Mulford (RS) As that's not in average order, I'd guess that's the riding order? Despite me being told many times over the winter that Brennan would not be at reserve!
  14. Being responsible towards the environment? Not wasting perfectly good kevlars!
  15. I disagree, Redcar have shown there are circumstances when calling it off in advance, despite good weather predicted for the day, is wise!
  16. I honestly think Spencer could end up at reserve, not by any failing on his part, just due to the incredible potential of the riders below him.
  17. The NL isn't just about finding 3.00 reserves who could become superstars (Harrison, Killeen & James) but also about continued progress of the previous seasons "rising stars" to accurately describe them: Hodder, Perry, Boughen, Trigger, Warren, Scott & Pijper all of these guys could have a future in the Champ & hopefully above. That is if Champ promoters use these up & coming Brits instead of flying in Aussies to average below 3.00!
  18. I would say the McGurk brothers were dissapointing last season in that they didn't progress as would've been expected. Not sure o would say Belle Vue were "let down" by their form when the whole team (apart from Hodder) underperformed (away from home mainly). How were they "conned" by a promotion? Do tell
  19. Sensible decision to call it off, forecast for tonight was terrible!
  20. Obviously I was very dissapointed yesterday, having travelled so far & arriving in lovely weather - who wouldn't be! I can read about all the effort gone into running it & understand why they chose not to call it off earlier. The downside of their efforts falling short of creating a safe track, apart from fans wasted journeys, is how many fans will stay at home in the future of the weather is iffy (or there's been a few wet days)?
  21. From the Scottish Borders, 130 mile trip there! I wasn't happy, as the weather was lovely today
