  1. I don't think it's a case of other clubs not being bothered, just not willing to risk a rain-off or suffer a poor crowd! Look what happened at Stuart Robson's farewell - they were certainly "bothered" & made every attempt to get the meeting on - end result, hundreds of fans travelling for it to be called off!
  2. While it's a blow for Oxford with Nathan Stoneman getting injured, r/r still gives them a strong looking teams with Jenkins, Atkins, Scott & Killeen all able to get an extra ride (or more in Luke's case).
  3. Maybe it shouldn't be simple? Surely giving the sport more credibility is more important than making it "simple" to find a guest? Might even encourage clubs to look for replacements than reply on guests? Using Edinburgh as an example, I wouldn't even look for a replacement for Pickering, no matter how long he is out for, with his average there are plenty of available heat leaders to guest for him! Nothing to do with lack of available replacements - I think guests would be stronger, so why not use them?
  4. On paper this Lynn team should be competitive, a lack of a number one shouldn't be an issue if you've got 6 riders who can score 7 points each week! Not sure why they are doing so badly? Obviously missing a strong reserve today, but should still be doing better!
  5. Don't be silly, they could possibly go the whole season without losing a match in the Champ!
  6. Speedway fans. Some will support their club no matter what, other just want to see as much Speedway as possible. Both should be applauded imo
  7. 3rd heat leaders at the start of the season: Chris Harris 7.40 (7.59) Luke Becker 7.11 Adam Ellis 6.75 (6.89) Palm Toft or Kasprzak 6.86 Ben Basso 6.81 Danny King 6.41 (6.57) Charles Wright 6.26 (6.42) Basso was on a par with most of the third heat leaders this season, can't use his team positioning as an excuse!
  8. If he wants to become a world class rider, which I'm sure he does, he can't stay a second string forever. However it's early days, can can still reach his average this season.
  9. That would be an acceptable excuse for Peterborough fans if this was announced on advance, but they had him programmed to race until Wolves was cancelled & Harris became available to replace Pedersen. What were Panthers planning to do if Wolves wasn't cancelled & why lie to their fans? As he is riding on Tuesday was always going to miss the Plymouth match, so it's only Panthers fans who can feel peeved!
  10. Kelsey rode 2 league matches for Newcastle in 2021 averaging 6.29, also rode 2 for Kent averaging 1.71. Overall average would be 4.00 but once Newcastle dropped out of the league their matches were null & void, so he'd revert back to his starting ave.
  11. Less effort in picking Leicester riders & going for a strong team! R Worrall 7.97 J Sedgmen 7.04 M P Toft 6.76 D Thompson 5.09 C Vissing 5.00 C Mountain 4.72 J Thompson 3.27 Total 39.85
  12. Quick attempt at a combination of this year's & last year's team, but it came agonisingly over the limit! Kyle Howarth 8.36 Richie Worrall 7.97 Justin Sedgmen 7.04 Jake Allen 6.30 Dan Thompson 5.09 Joe Thompson 3.27 Connor Coles 2.00 Total 40.03
  13. I think guests will be stronger than any replacement Edinburgh could find, so no point even looking imo!
  14. I'm under the impression that Ellis could sign on his Champ average as his Prem ave hasn't changed, but come May 1st he'd be on a converted ave
  15. His average wouldn't go that high, as he'd be carrying 10 matches from 2022 with a 5 point ave!
  16. Guest options in May for Pickering (5.92) would be Bellego (5.80), Brennan (5.72), Blodorn (5.50), Howarth (5.40), Kerr (5.27), Andersen (5.19), Lidsey (5.16) & Sedgmen (4.98). Or sign Nicholls or Cook?
  17. Yes, if Nicholls signs his average will change, guest appearances don't effect average.
  18. Gotta echo all these comments about Richie Worrall, if he has to leave early to race tomorrow, what was the original plan for today? Why would Panthers keep that a secret from their fans? Similar to Wolves not announcing Harris instead of Nicholls, what do they gain by not being honest in their pre-match previews?
  19. Don't know what could possibly be "suspect" about this match being off, 2 full strength teams (I count using Nicholls as being at full strength) plus loads of publicity over the stadium, could have led to a massive crowd. I'm sure the last thing Wolves would want is a postponement!
  20. I didn't know that, but my point remains (before the postponement) Peterborough were getting slagged off for using r/r fans / trolls saying the promotion have "given up" & they won't go anymore, while I didn't read a single complaint on the Sheffield thread for using r/r!
  21. The cut-off date for May has passed, Pickering will still be at reserve. Nicholls or Cook could be possible temporary signings.
  22. If Nicholls signs as a temp replacement, they don't use Pickering's average any more, so Nicholls would be at reserve - best reserve in the league imo
  23. Sheffield are also using r/r but they're not getting slagged off for it?
