  1. If Berwick fans are travelling down & staying over in hotels ahead of Oxford tomorrow it makes sense to do everything to try & get it on, they're heading south anyway.
  2. Looking at those numbers, the Champ should easily be able to fit in 2 home & 2 away. However looking at that season not a single Championship club also ran an NL team (10 stand alone clubs & Belle Vue).
  3. He's not needed to fit under the averages, I made a mistake
  4. Starke doesn't fit, maybe Jack Smith for Joe T to fit under the limit? Edit: I'm getting confused, Starke fits to replace Dan T, wouldn't for for Joe T!
  5. Personally I think that's a massive shame, what did Dan get? Like 2 matches to prove himself?
  6. I honestly think Jack Smith is the best option for a (temporary) replacement. If not that, then Connor Coles would be the strongest Champ guest to use when he's available. Boughen is too young & I think the Champ would be too big a step for him once he reaches 16, probably better off to take a few guest bookings with a view to finding a Champ club in 2024?
  7. No one's denying that, the question is, would all the rain offs get replayed before the play-offs start?
  8. Is it worth trying Matthew Wethers on a 28 day contract?
  9. That may be the only way the BSPL / SCB review their attitude to the Nora league, as long as the clubs let them get away with "bullying" them, they'll continue to do it!
  10. But if the track was so dangerous, why did they race heat 10? If it was truly unsafe, could have called it off earlier! Going to 10 heats & then stopping doesn't seem like rider safety was the only thing going through promoters / riders / referees mind?
  11. I think I say this every day, but why does Hans need to retire? If the club wants to strengthen up they can do that without him retiring!
  12. Looking at the new rolling averages using Gilkes (5.11) instead of the r/r option (7.05, 6.05, 5.49, 5.18) would be weaker plus not showing much faith in the home riders! Of course there's always a risk of injuries, but do you pick a weaker (statistically) option just in case? Whereas Ben Cook (6.51) could be a strengthening option.
  13. Disaster for Mulford & real bad news for Redcar. As harsh as it may sound Belle Vue shouldn't be hindered, Bailey & Edwards could be possible replacements? Get well soon Jake
  14. 2 home & 2 away would work perfectly with no play-offs, no need to cancel cup fixtures to race league matches before the cut-off date, no need to race on your off night / twice a week. Would have till the end of October to fit in the fixtures. However I know they'd never get rid of the play-offs
  15. Why? If he still enjoys racing & can make a living, no reason to stop, unless he wants to. It's up to the club to drop him if they have a better option!
  16. I'm sure Sam Masters has previously doubled up in the UK as well as riding in Poland & Denmark. Not sure if he still races in Denmark now, but he wouldn't give up Poland because the Championship had more fixtures.
  17. People who like me, who see nothing wrong with a draw / or wonder why when 2nd & 3rd is the same as 1st & 4th for 15 heats, is suddenly better in the 16th race? Same theory as not agreeing with a final in an individual after 20 races, or play-offs to decide the league title. Or wild cards getting picked instead of qualifiers. I guess I prefer a "true / fair" winner without any gimmicks etc
  18. Both teams have strong top fives, think it's the reserve berth where Poole hold the biggest advantage.
  19. Maybe waiting for the dates for the 2022 final so there's not a fixture clash lol!
  20. It's not often a Speedway club would choose to race on their off night? Makes me wonder why Glasgow wanted to move to Fridays if they are not easy to organise?
  21. Vissing is 5th in the Tigers averages, can't help but think this is a slight on Basso?
  22. I'm sure he can, but I think the rule is written very poorly!
  23. Lee Complin dropped below 4.00 last year, but those Newcastle meetings were removed, putting him back at 4.00 again.
  24. Part of the problem is the fixture list, many teams had quiet months in May / June, but are getting busier, especially in August (probably to be race fit for the play-offs, but it means less dates available for re-arranged fixtures. Edinburgh vs Birmingham is an example that despite the fixture list appearing to be very empty this year, a quick look to spot a re-staging date shows Friday 21st July as the first available Friday date (racing a NL fixture at Belle Vue that night). After that it's Friday 8th Sept.
