Bailey has such a high average, second to Jordan Jenkins in the averages, so many possible guests if needed!
-
I noticed that when Edinburgh are hosting their double header, fans who only want to watch the first match, will get money back of they leave before the second one. But as that is Monarchs vs Bandits followed by Academy vs Bullets, you'd think it's not so necessary to offer that! But how many Plymouth fans want to watch Belle Vue & vice versa?

Really need to win away at any (or all) of the top 4 clubs, not only gaining 3 extra points, but denying their opposition of the same points available. Can't see that happening at all, plus even if they do may not be enough!

Leicester vs Peterborough 06/07/23 PREMIERSHIP R2
szkocjasid replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Have a "rest line" 5 meters from the start, then call the riders forward & green light goes on 30 seconds later, no time for "gardening" it's the same for all riders, so no need for them to complain (though they would). -
Sounds like Rathbone should have been the one to negotiate with Poland over using their Extraleague riders. He was smart enough to get paid to release a rider, while years later the league has given up priority on Thursdays for re-arranged fixtures! He deserves a medal for his brilliance lol!

Scunthorpe vs Redcar KOC Semi Final 14/15 July
szkocjasid replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Poole will be favourites to beat either club over 2 legs, don't think giving Ben Cook an extra match at Scunny will change much. Plus win or lose a KOC final against Poole should be a crowd puller -
I like the rolling averages fine, but maybe the total league matches ridden should be the number used, for this season it would be a 16 match rolling ave in the Championship for example.

Could go either way, very interesting tie -
Belle Vue v Kent - Friday 7 July

I thought Belle Vue were the strongest team by far last year, even before they added Mulford, still can't believe how they managed to miss out on the top 4! -
Ipswich v Wolves July 6th

Simple answer would be don't allow different start & finish lines. -
Glasgow v Redcar CL 7/7/23 @7-30
szkocjasid replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Let's be honest, Glasgow have already secured the play-offs. No matter how good Boughen is going, it would be very risky to run with 2 x 2.00 riders in the ay-offs (of course Pijper may be a 3.5 rider by then but not a "senior" reserve). You also can't guarantee a replacement will end up being stronger. Nowak was stronger than Sedgmen at home, but far weaker away. Previous to that they dropped James Sarjeant for Mikkel B Andersen who weakened the team! Using unofficial averages from 2021 Sedgmen (6.24/5.03) dropped for Nowak (7.00/2.55). Then in 2019 Sarjeant (3.79/3.72) dropped for Andersen (2.32/2.77) -
07.07.2023 - Scunthorpe v Edinburgh CDCh

I'm Cook's defence after his first ride (after which he may have sussed out the track) he only lost to Douglas! -
While the play-offs, especially finals can bring in big crowds, which I why they're here to stay. How many fans pick & choose their matches throughout the year as they are less important, especially for clubs guaranteed to be in the top 6? We'll never know but it's possible the play-off system lowers attendances during the season?

Workington v Leicester 08/07/2023 3pm ko cup 1st leg

Harrison has a 6.80 average, was never going to stay at reserve with that kind of scoring! -
Workington v Leicester 08/07/2023 3pm ko cup 1st leg

Don't see any chance that will happen, even if Bickley wanted to sign, I wouldn't go for him because the team would have to be nearly 4 points weaker than they currently are! -
Workington v Leicester 08/07/2023 3pm ko cup 1st leg
szkocjasid replied to topaz325's topic in National League Speedway
You wouldn't last long in Speedway of you got upset at a friend / family member getting dropped, especially one who's dropped 4 points from his average. That being said I can't see Harry getting dropped now he's on a 3.00 average. -

szkocjasid replied to topaz325's topic in National League Speedway
Comets have to take some of the blame for not replacing Harry when he was on a higher average, could even have kept Dugard when Harrison came back in. Of course their policy may have been - everyone is in the team for the season regardless of form - if so credit to them for that attitude, but it does mean less chance of titles. -
Belle Vue v Kent - Friday 7 July
szkocjasid replied to PotteringAround's topic in National League Speedway
I'd say absolutely zero chance! While it's unfortunate the way the fixtures work for some teams when it comes to Speedway, nothing you can do about it. Belle Vue need to improve their away form to win leagues, but their strong home form should always keep them away from the bottom places. -
Poole v Berwick 12/7/23 CL
szkocjasid replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Can only see a home win & a Pirates bonus point, most interesting part of the matches will be if Poole can win at Berwick. -
Rider Changes in the championship
szkocjasid replied to Cast1rn's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Very true, the daftest example I can think of in recent years was Robert Lambert due to be missing a Newcastle match the day after an international, choosing to ride abroad instead. As he was racing in another meeting - no guest was allowed. Then when the other meeting was postponed a guest was allowed as it was a day after the international! -
Glasgow v Redcar CL 7/7/23 @7-30
szkocjasid replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's possible every single Glasgow fan & the management would all agree that Hume is better than Nowak - but it's irrelevant as that change would've meant Glasgow were over the limit. If you're going to declare Hume should have been in the side (easy to say) then really should point out the other changes needed (much harder to do). -
Belle Vue v Kent - Friday 7 July
szkocjasid replied to PotteringAround's topic in National League Speedway
I've not looked ahead to remaining fixtures, but Belle Vue are not out if it, if big outsiders. Of course any teams going to Berwick will Habe a tougher time now they've signed Boxall. -
Poole v Berwick 12/7/23 CL
szkocjasid replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I do find comments like this hilarious, (whether it's a joke or not still funny to me) Poole won home & away to Oxford in the BSN, knock Oxford out of the KOC & just because they lose the away league match (could still win the bonus) people have made such a big deal of it. I guess because Poole have been so successful over the years, I means more to the opposition when they beat them? -
I've neve understood the phrase doctoring a track, I mean it's the same for all riders in every heat. Of course a home club should set it up to suit their team, why wouldn't they? Even if the gates aren't even, all riders still have one of each gate. As long as the ref ensures the start grids are treated equally throughout, the rest is fair game for me!
-
I'm 99% sure it doesn't (unless they're not replaced) otherwise a teams riders will have ridden more than 30 rides between them.
