I wouldn't say he guided Belle Vue to the title, more realistic to say he was a part of the team that won the league! But as "some" Berwick fans on here are keen to get rid of him, I don't think he'll solves Witches problems.

Leicester vs Kings Lynn 17/7/23
szkocjasid replied to Lenny Lion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
With Batchelor having his first Premiership match & Lynn with former Lion Howarth & Lambert who can go well here don't think Leicester will hit 60. Lions 55-35 Stars -
I was pointing out how unlikely a late play-off push for Ipswich is - it's not easy to post sarcasm

A quick look at today's fixtures & I see a way back into play-off contention. Witches win at Belle Vue, Stars win at Leicester and Panthers win at Wolverhampton - what could be simpler

I don't like finals & think these events should be decided over 20 heats. However I don't "feel" for Rowe, because before the match he knew the rules & understands a 15 point max only guarantees him gate choice in the final. Under the rules Connor Bailey was the deserving winner (I don't like these rules & feel Rowe would have been a deserving winner in a 20 heat match).

Redcar v Scunthorpe KO Cup
szkocjasid replied to Tosh1218's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I didn't intentionally switch the legs round, only picked those dates because Scunny are at Redcar on the Friday already & didn't know of the stockcar event on the Saturday. I see zero reason whatsoever to suggest Redcar should host the second leg, just do whatever fits in with the fixtures best, there's no advantage either way imo -

Auto correct drives me mad at times -
The comment of the 1-7 staying the same is a strange one, it's obviously meant to be positive comment aimed at the people suggesting Laguta would be leaving, but normally when you have a weak team saying the 1-7 is staying the same isn't something to boast about lol!

Why not go with Pijper, Boughen & Harrison for your bottom 3 next season? Imagine how strong the top for would be!

Which is exactly the sort of rule that need to be "fixed". Although that's not accurate, Barker wasn't guesting for Riss, he was a temp signing, Riss couldn't return to Ipswich till 28 days was up - but can ride for another team! I wonder if he could've guested against Ipswich? -
Redcar v Scunthorpe KO Cup

I'd be going Redcar leg on Fri 21st, Scunny leg on Sat 22nd. Get the Cup final raced against Poole before October! -
Edinburgh Academy V Workington Comets

Well in that case, I'll remove any blame I was feeling towards Connor. Can't understand the decision though, when Complin was offered the guest booking he must have known it was because Redcar we're riding that day, so there's always a chance of a postponement & Bailey suddenly becoming available. I feel the "integrity" of the sport i.e using your own riders should trump Complin's guest booking. -

That makes it even worse imo. Many fans hate the guest system, I feel it's a necessary evil but gets abused. How can you explain to a newcomer why Workington are allowed a guest for a rider not injured & in attendance? -
This is my point exactly, open up more qualifying spots & less seeded places & you'll get more different riders like Kim Nilsson (who 100% deserves his place) in the GPs each year. They may not be one of the best 15 riders in the world, they may not be what the organisers want, but they will be the most deserving - having qualified!

Not sure it really matters if they were unlucky with injuries or not, for one you can never prove what will happen, secondly people will only remember the league winners, not a team unlucky with injuries - sadly that just a part of the sport. However Glasgow always put out a strong team & always near the top, many clubs would be far happier with that sort of record.
