  1. Makes a change from the BSN series, where Jason Edwards could guest for one of his team's rivals for a semi final spot
  2. If he's out for the season, Joe T seems the obvious signing, can't think of anyone else. Joe's a better choice than Jack Smith imo
  3. I think so, I'm not 100% sure, the rules aren't easy to follow lol!
  4. Joe T could guest in the play-offs. Tbh only having 3 teams to chose from doesn't make a big difference, as with his low average there's not a lot of guest options from the top 6 teams? Ryan Kinsley would be a sensible option of they met Oxford in the final (and were still using guests).
  5. I don't blame the rider, even if he's half a lap behind, he can treat it as free/paid practice. Not sure why a club chasing the play-offs would stick with a NL reserve on their Championship side?
  6. Roynon is stronger than Joe T, so either use guests till he is back or sign Joe on a temporary contract, but I wouldn't drop Roynon unless his season was over
  7. There's plenty of riders available to guest, just not strong enough for Lynn it seems
  8. Redcar's 1-7 has shown Mulford all year, if Harrison was an injury replacement, he'd be in the 1-7. I'm guessing the Harrison's decided guesting was preferable so he wouldn't get an average above 2.00 for next season (or Redcar only offered him the guest spot)?
  9. Run the Championship at a really low limit 35/36? To encourage them to step up. Champ clubs run with 2 heat leaders, 2 second strings & 3 NL riders?
  10. Especially when teams have been fined for fielding under-strength teams but have still won!
  11. Luke wasn't a temporary replacement, he was just used as a guest each week, so Workington get priority.
  12. Yes - because he didn't win all 6 heats. I he didn't have to to win the meeting, but shows he didn't have it all his own way.
  13. Pretty poor excuse to postpone the match imo, only 2 riders injured so r/r for Klindt & and Championship second string for TJ isn't much worse than they've been running all season tbh. Calling off a match because you can't find a "strong" guest just opens up a can of worms now doesn't it?
  14. With Dan T out injured & "no facility" available, should they sign Ben Morley as an injury replacement?
  15. I don't think Redcar are a threat to Poole finishing top, so I see no issue with a Poole rider guesting. I do find it interesting that many riders bemoan lack of fixtures, but clubs can still struggle to find guests at times.
  16. Suggestion was nothing to do with stopping people complaining, thinking of a way to make the clubs make an effort to stage it. To pay tribute to Nigel seemed the best chance of making it happen?
  17. While I would have put Wright in the squad, winning a race against a weaker rider doesn't mean he'd score more points against the world's best than Ellis & Brennan.
  18. I still insist for the changes to be made Harris HAD to have agreed to it. If Leicester said, sorry we're dropping you, but Peterborough have a team spot for you and Harris said, "sod it, I'll just race for Glasgow. Then Peterborough wouldn't have a replacement for Worrall, so he can't leave to go to Leicester, so Leicester wouldn't be in a position to drop Harris.
  19. I'm sure it would be easier for British youngsters to get team places if the asset system wasn't used, or used like in Poland / football. There would be a lot less of clubs flying in Aussies to gain an asset, when they could save air fares by using Brits, with no loan fees to worry about.
  20. If they turned this final into a Nigel Pearson memorial & tried to raise money for the Ben Fund, something I'm sure Nigel would have been keen on (& his family happy with) do you think the riders & clubs would make an effort put it on out of respect for Nige?
  21. Watching this meeting now & it really is hard to watch. Newcastle were awful, the track didn't produce good racing, it's no surprise they didn't last the season. Very dissapointing as I had enjoyed many visits to Newcastle over the years. Never was a good track for overtaking, but I guess you knew that going in & hopes for a close score at least. One thing about the comments of Leicester's wage bill being so much (one reason they moved up to the Prem possibly) why didn't they give Joe T a r/r outing, they could announce its to give him track time / find his form, even if secretly it was to save money. Also found the commentator treating the Thompson's as one, when Joe had a bad ride made a comments about then being busy - but Dan was riding well. Feels like I've read so many comments on the forum about "both Thompsons struggling etc" as if they're the same standard, when Dan had been doing better. I certainly don't remember a similar thing happening to Richie & Steve Worrall.
  22. I would have to disagree with the British U21 Champion being seeded to the final, it's supposed to be for the top 16 Brits (who want to ride), of they are good enough they'll qualify. You could get a situation where the 16th best rider is a 22 year old, not getting picked as he was too old to compete in the U-21s. I would certainly prefer qualifiers to decide the finalists, that would be my priority far before having a 3 round series.
  23. I'm surprised they didn't learn from last year & hold the British Final early enough to allow a re-staging before Cardiff if postponed?
  24. Fabulous race, thought the commentator would have sounded more excited by it?
