  1. Joe T really should be aiming for the greatest ever NL ave, rivalling Kennett, Mason, Howe etc. I'm a bit confused by Leicester's thinking, with their Premiership hat on they think Joe can take scalps & is good enough for the Prem, but with their NL hat on, he feels Joe needs another season in a far weaker league - those two trains of thought don't make sense together? Also if they really are focussed on "development" doesn't Max Perry need another NL season more than Joe T?
  2. I hadn't given Ablitt a reduction, thinking there's a rule that once you've gone above 3.00 you can't drop below it? This rule was ignored for Kyle Bickley who was allowed to drop below 3.00 bit bit for the likes of Roynon or William Lawson over the last 2/3 seasons. It's hard to know the rules when they aren't consistently adhered to! Maybe as it's exactly 3.00, he can drop below it - my understanding is fractions are rounded up so 2.93.
  3. Thomsen can't drop below 4.00, which should suit Poole tbh. If he's awful, they can replace him with another 4.00 rider (& repeat till they find a good one). Even if he's riding to a 3.00 ave & Hagon goes up to 3.99, Hagon could replace him in every match as he'd still be at reserve!
  4. Oxford have a better top 2, Redcar have a better middle 3, but Oxford's reserves have the most potential for improvement imo
  5. I'm gonna have to agree with the suggestion made that Rowe & Newman combined would have scored more than Brennan & Thomsen. If Rowe gets a Champ spot, will be interesting to compare their final averages.
  6. I believe he has retired, even so his average would have been to high for the last spot.
  7. By my maths MPT & Mountain doesn't fit to complete the team. I'd go for MPT & Gilkes.
  8. Cook as Poole's 4th "heat leader" has an average of 6.22. other teams 3rd heat leaders are Etheridge (5.91), Thompson (6.48), Flint (6.56), Jenkins (5.98), Newman (5.65), Jorgensen (6.39). So Cook is not far behind the best 3rd heat leaders in the league & stronger than the weakest. In a 38 point league, I'd say Poole certainly have "4 heat leaders"
  9. He had dropped about a point off that average, but when Newcastle's fixtures were removed from the rolling averages (unnecessarily imo) the likes of him & Clegg were left with higher averages than their ability.
  10. I'd put him at reserve in that team, put the weakest 3.00 rider at 2. Sounds harsh, but helps them win.
  11. Terrible season last year, so naturally a very potent reserve if he can rediscover some of his previous form.
  12. Is he the one who won a race in the world cup? Looked very stylish.
  13. That's the biggest exaggeration ever, they'd be like 18 points above the limit in the Champ & wouldn't lose a match all season. I agree their top riders aren't as strong as Sheffield & Ipswich's especially, but they could have the strongest reserve pairing in the league.
  14. I'm confused by that comment too, don't see how Oxford are "horrific" looking strong to me!
  15. If the Pawlicki's are the last two signings, I don't think the team looks that bad. Probably will finish bottom, but I think they'd still be competitive.
  16. When the first team is completed it's impossible to compare to anything but last year's teams (Redcar looked weaker) but as more clubs near completion, Redcar look stronger, definite play-off contenders imo
  17. Is it really a french revolution when one french rider is coming lol!
  18. So this team then? Workington Craig Cook 8.52 Claus Vissing 6.24 Dimitri Berge 6.21 David Bellego 6.00 Dan Gilkes 4.84 Steven Goret 4.00 Sam McGurk 2.00 Total 37.81
  19. Nathan Ablitt recently said in the Speedway Star that Armadale was jos favourite track, if he's not back at Scunthorpe could he be a possible number 6? Connor Coles would still be my first choice.
  20. Is that a plus? While Max is promising, it's probably gonna be a season too early for him to step up & I think he'll have the lowest NL ave of any 2.00 riders stepping up this year. So Monarchs could once again have the weakest rider in the league riding for them. Is it worth having a "fresh face" if they're out of their depth. For Max & Edinburgh's sake I hope the step up isn't too much for him.
  21. I have no doubt Monarchs top 2 would be one of the weaker combinations if it is Sedgmen / Riss. BUT in "my team" Monarchs could have a reserve stronger than 4 of Glasgow's riders, 3 or 4 of Oxford's riders & 3 of Poole's riders for example.
  22. Not sure why many feel Kye had such a disappointing season last year, he went from 6.60 to 6.48, so hardly a disaster. Riders all wait to improve but not everyone will do it every season. Kye has a higher average than Zach Cook, but I've not read a single comment from Poole fans saying "he needs to step up this year". Perhaps Kye's problem was he was too impressive in his first couple of years, has he been a 4.00 then a 5.00 like Zach he'd have got more credit last year? Josh Pickering actually lost more off his average than Kye (8.92-8.63) but I don't read many people subjecting Picko to the same "he should do better" comments like Kye gets?
  23. Totally agree with that, but just going by rumors of him racing at Berwick. In a weaker league think Thomas would put lots on his average (assuming he's recovered from his injuries) meaning Lasse could end up at reserve.
  24. If that's true, how about? Would have the best reserve in the league imo Edinburgh Justin Sedgmen 7.69 Erik Riss 7.35 Kye Thompson 6.48 Paco Castagna 5.30 Lasse Fredriksen 4.57 Jack Thomas 4.51 Max James 2.00 Total 37.90
