  1. Do you mean Jordan Palin? I thought he was taking a year out due to a head injury?
  2. I find it very hard to imagine Poole & Oxford picking each other, thought they are bound to want to save that for the final?
  3. I wasn't blaming Poole tbh, of course they want to be strong. More saying two equally weak teams can produce a close match, thus being more entertaining than seeing a stronger team.
  4. Joe was certainly unlucky to be dropped by Scunthorpe, but both of them were not scoring well at Birmingham, so can't complain about that. I know Brummies replacements haven't done great, but that doesn't deflect from the fact if Joe & James had ridden like this, they wouldn't have been dropped by the Brummies. Well done to both lads for finding their form now!
  5. Does it matter who thought it up, gotta be voted in by the majority right?
  6. I thought exactly the same thing, expecting more random testing before the season is over
  7. 1) he's innocent until test is proven positive (not non-negative) 2) if guilty, can they prove when a banned substance was taken?
  8. That's the thing, it's still a draw though. If they really don't want draws, just make it 2 for a winning superheat, 0 for a losing superheat. Personally I see nothing wrong with draws & think the super heat is unnecessary
  9. Any points limit will hinder high averaged riders getting signed (plus make it easier for riders who have had a bad season to get signed) but the 39 limit is actually sensible imo. Teams should average out at 42, so 39+3(rs) should mean team strengths are similar to the previous season. It's actually slightly above a 42 limit as all the RS are above 3.00 now. Riders might have to swap clubs, but in theory none of them should have to miss out on a team spot. If there will be a Premiership next season is a bigger question than the points limit.
  10. But Batchelor doesn't need to reach his former glories to help a team. A struggling team with 8 points available is better off signing a 6.5 Batchelor even if he only scores 5 points than a 2.00 newbie (which some are suggesting)
  11. Problem with that, is some clubs can only ride once a week & may already be racing the next two weeks. Could say they have to race on their next available race day? Agree with the second part, I'm so used to seeing guests, not racing because of riders missing? Well that's just par for the course
  12. Must be more entertaining than either club being thrashed by Poole / Oxford?
  13. I think matches should have a set amount of points, so if they have to keep the "stupid heat" I'd make the scoring 3(2-1)0. But remember last year matches didn't always have the same points gained. Home wins could be 3-1 or 3-0, away wins could be 0-3 or 0-4
  14. Don't be daft, the promoter's never put that much thought into rules. They'll come up with an idea to fix a problem, blissfully unaware it creates 2 new problems
  15. But remember they don't have to be good now, just good when they play-offs start
  16. That's true, if Lynn expect to lose 60-30, then using r/r at 2 is sensible, helps avoid a drubbing. But if they expect it to be close, then not helping them!
  17. I can't believe Lynn are putting r/r at 2 (well I can because they've done it before) as this means Lambert will get his extra ride in heat 8 against Hume & Boughen! Is that not a waste of a ride of their top man? Could another Lynn rider not win heat 8, then Lambert beat heat leaders in his extra outing?
  18. My point is, Peterborough look favourites. So Sheffield's top riders need to beat Panthers best men as often as possible, so I'd want Holder & Musielak in heat 13. I also don't feel Howarth / Pickering looks a weak middle order pairing. It may not have worked, we'll never know!
  19. Just thinking outside of the box & trying to work out how to get the bonus point. I agree Peterborough look strong now with their changes & expect a 10+ win for them.
  20. Graduated from the scheme is a better explanation for it. He improved & got a spot in their top 6. That's a ringing endorsement for the RS system in my view
  21. I don't think the rules allowed Lambert to sign, but the rules were so poorly written Belle Vue were able to use him. That's the fault of the BSPL, not Belle Vue!
