  1. Justin Sedgmen averaged 6.18 (6.79 with bonus) in his 7 Birmingham matches this year. The fact he's available on 4.79 makes him a very useful signing, especially when you consider he could start at reserve (his above average was in the top 5). But that potential gain for the team will be nullified of they can't build to the points limit.
  2. Only if they didn't have a Championship team. They can't double up.
  3. You could say Leicester are technically going with 3 green reserves. Be tough for whoever starts in the top 5.
  4. I agree, was just replying to wether Bowtell / Joe could race NDT. However Joe may do it, if Plymouth needs a heat leader & to get some "paid practice" to help his Championship form?
  5. 1) I knew Pearson didn't want to ride for a weekend track, wasn't sure if he'd want to join a mid-week track though. 2) Joe T can double up in the NDT team, but Bowtell can't. 3) Given that that team comes to 41.86, I would expect it to surprise a few lol!
  6. If Birmingham are struggling to find riders, may have been able to convince him to do a U-turn?
  7. Kinda hope this isn't the team, does not look good. Nico Covatti 7.82 Ben Barker 5.87 Joe Thompson 5.63 James Pearson 5.51 Alfie Bowtell 5.07 Mitchell Cluff 5.00 Lasse Fredriksen 4.67 Total 39.57
  8. Another advantage of going to Poole is extra fixtures, each year they make the play-offs, BSN & koc finals. If riders are confident they'll be near the top, they'll earn more but virtue of riding more.
  9. Not just the riders, clubs don't want to race off their alternative race night. Redcar for example, mentioned racing 6 non-fridays would lose them money.
  10. So potentially Tobiasz Musielak 8.21 Matej Zagar 7.20 Jonas Jeppesen 6.00 Steve Worrall 5.69 Keynan Rew 5.67 Justin Sedgmen 4.79 Jason Edwards RS Total 37.56 Not sure of Jeppesen's average?
  11. To be fair, he didn't say he thought Cairns would be at Workington, just asked about it.
  12. I guess you could argue as it's a development league, there's no reason to lower his average. Focus in bringing riders on rather than if the team is good enough to win the league? However 5 or so years ago a few riders came in on lower averages, Luke Clifton for example, so rules should be consistent.
  13. I would say not necessarily, they still have made some good signings. Should make the top 4, even without Cairns. But they would probably struggle to win the play-offs without him.
  14. Maybe he found it funny because Darryl Ritchings won't be in the Brummies Premiership squad?
  15. I don't think a "letter of intent" is a legally binding agreement.
  16. You raise a good point, I'm thinking of end of season averages, so they might not have gained a point by July. However I'd still expect Poole to be above 40 by then. Kerr's average should in theory go down, as he drops his high scoring Oxford '23 figures & retains his lower scoring Berwick '24 figures. Starke should do the opposite, as he drops his low scoring Birmingham '23 & Glasgow '24 scores, but retains his higher Workington '24 scores. I'm sure Poole's master plan, is to drop the "temporary two pointer" for Cairns, as he along with the top 6 are good enough to win the title.
  17. I'm sure they won't have a point to play with when Cairns comes in. I expect Cook, Rowe, Thomsen & Starke could put a point on their averages each. At least 3 points between them.
  18. Such a brilliant question? How can anyone defend Ford saying Foord was dropped "due to the points limit". Unless they both agreed to say that, so Vinnie looks better for prospective employers? Certainly sounds better than, "we rate Paul Starke higher" lol!
  19. Feel free to start a topic in the development league section. Cancel that, just seen someone else has.
  20. This is the team I would go with, stronger top end, but still having one strong reserve. Nico Covatti 7.82 Michael P Toft 7.80 Ben Barker 5.87 Joe Thompson 5.63 Alfie Bowtell 5.07 Lasse Fredriksen 4.67 Ben Trigger 3.00 Total 39.86
  21. I don't think Kildemand is a bad signing on a 6.00 average, he could reach that. But I thought he was an awesome signing at first when I was led to believe it was 4.0/4.5. I certainly don't understand why they would drop Harris for Kildemand though. I guess we'll never know if they had other answers that fell through & Kildemand was a back up option (something Harris wouldn't agree to be).
  22. Seems to be Peter Schroeck's attitude to team changes though!
  23. I think Starke would be a great signing if they had 3.5 available, but with over 4 available I'd have stuck with Foord. Apart from sticking with Foord for the future, he could be the better rider this season. If the averages fitted, I would've had them both.
  24. There's a reason for Poole fans to be positive about Starke. Ignore his Glasgow form in the top 5 3.55 (4.45), as he's very unlikely to break into Poole's top 5 & concentrate on his Workington form at reserve 4.43 (5.53). I'd agree it's a stretch to think he'll be a 5-6 rider, but could put a point on his average.
