all i can say that i thought it was wonderful tv and it couldnt come at a better time as to liven up what i thought was the worst GP of the year by far!!! that track was a disgrace considering the racing so far this season..is it a danish insistence on producing slick tracks????....i really do believe its time for mr olsen to stand down from race director as he clearly has the interests of danish speedway far higher than gp n general....you only have to look at the state of the m4 motorway last year that is hamar to realise its all to do with engineering a win for nikki and his fellow danisssshhhhhh cronies like hans and bjarne????!

Yes Grachan, this meeting was indeed at Sheffield....... I was at that meeting, was a pretty bad crash, remember Crumpie going into the fence and breaking his leg, and Ashby flying through the air. After that I don't think Crumpie did much at Sheffield, or not as well as he had done in the past. He certainly let it be known that he did not like the track. If I remember Ashby was never the same again and only rode one more season. he actually rode 3 more seasons...2 for swindon and 1 for reading

there are quite a selection of good 3 star hotels in prague...the harmony being quite a good one...hotel berlin also wasnt bad...most of these normally start at around 50 quid a nite....but beware prices may go up on gp weekend...if you want to go for it a bit the hotel paris in nice....do a google search and type in hotels in prague and there are quite a few sites with plenty of info.....www.google.com

not totally in keeping with this thread but all the talk about swindon & arena needing help with there line ups m akes me wonder if anyones forgetting the weakness currently of the ipswich 7 oxford teams???....i mean all ippo have at the moment in quality is scotty boy and oxford are currently heatleader less!! lol just a fort!

hes going to ride in a minimum of six match races against an as yet announced opponent ot opponents....apparently it took him 24 hours before he decided to talk terms....his firdt thought were that ian thomas had lost the plot!!! lol....apparently hes still pretty fit and has a competitive edge still cos he is demanding the best equipment available....and he has asked for use of the icetrack prior to the event so he can get 'dialled' in and racefit....good for him i say..at least hes taking it seriously!!!....its a bit of an american rennaissance isnt it wot with boogaloo..kely moran and shawn mcconnell!!!

i know the jawa has a 2-speed....it also has a rear swinging forks with a central shock absorber unit supplied by hagon shocks!!!

oh and wear a russian hat or a big beanie and deffo not a baseball cap cos yer ears will fall of!!! lol..but i try not to wear too many layers cos you cant move!..a nice big stadium or paddock jacket will do nicely!..stating the obvious i know but you do see some vanity even in sub zero conditions!!!!

nothing else to warn you about really...it does get cold but its far more colder when you watch it in russia & sweden!!!!.....but you will love it..its much faster than it looks on tv....and assen is IMO one of the best tracks from my experience...i havent been for 3 years as work commitments make it harder these days but i know when i can eventually i will start going again!!

me thinks they deffo are taking the rise!!!....to be honest maybe im a bit sceptical and fussy but apart from some hasbeen act or of butlin standard all we dont seem to be getting that much for our money???....60 quid to watch racing....ooops i mean gating is rather scandalous!!...i know there are cheaper seats but the problem with the millennium is that you tend to get wot you pay for....the cheap seats on terrafirma are cheap for a reason....you cant get any atmosphere down there....i just hope this year they can put on more of a show...i mean surely they can afford to get someone to give us a beter racetrack...cos after a while tedious racing does effect the atmosphere a bit..i thought the meeting started to drag thru the middle....maybe im fussy...but it could be a lot better!!!
