Swindon 2016 - A New Era Starts...we Thought..
Woz01 replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Spare reserve is a number 9 who will be a draft rider not yet picked to cover for the clubs draft riders should they be elsewhere. -
If his average is converted from his PL average last season then it will fit. It seems the reason for the change of date of the Bees v Kings Lynn meeting from the 8th to the 11th is because Kasprazak and Iversen would've been missing. Also now that Kings Lynn v Coventry is on the 6th April on Sky and not 24 hours later Bates will be available.
-
Yeah it must just be for that, suppose when we have Garrity in the side its always a good idea to have cover. Both King and Garrity rode with injuries during last season so when not 100% we can put Barker in. Dont know why Barker would accept though as he isn't guaranteed any meetings! Also looking at the draft list I'm hoping we sign Roynon as our number 9
-
No idea, we get priority on King and Garrity anyway so not needed. Seems a very strange one if true.
-
Apparently we've signed Barker in a shared d/u role. Not sure how that will work?
-
Exactly, Wolves are strong there. The rest in not too sure about but think Sedgmen might have a decent season for Swindon.
-
Huckenbeck was decent in that best pairs event but having said that Krcmar had a good World Cup in 2014 but was woeful for Swindon. All the clubs 5th average rider look pretty weak (Masters for Wolves an exception) which may help the likes of him and Woryna settle in a bit easier.
-
So are we going to sign a number 8 and/or number 9?

Still think Tai, Harris, Lambert and Cook will be the side. Good that Nicholls is available if one of them 4 is injured though. -
He sold it to Investin Brandon Limited in 2014 according to the local paper and he isn't on the list of directors for that company. There was a rumour he had a link with one of the directors though.

2017 - 1 Or 2 Fixed Race Nights And When?
Woz01 replied to 1 valve's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sky speedway also tweeted 13th April TBC which is also a Wednesday. Having said that Bees at home v Kings Lynn was moved from Friday 8th to Monday 11th but surely they wont have the same two teams twice in a row. -

Sky 2nd live match is also on a Wednesday, Kings Lynn v Coventry 6th April. Seems sky may be happy with Wednesday for live coverage. -
Kings Lynn v Coventry now Wednesday April 6th live on Sky according to Nigel Pearson.

Should have been introduced before all teams starting building their line up. Not keen on it being introduced one month before the season starts, its hardly fair on clubs that have built their sides without this being an option.
-
Larsen's average is too high anyway if you bring in Iversen.

They will soon be asking fans to send messages to Rugby Council saying that the need is there from the public for a new stadium through a dedicated website. I do think Rugby Council are warm to the idea of a new stadium as Stock Car and speedway actually brings in the most visitors within the Rugby Council area. Planning will come from Rugby Council but the land is owned by Coventry City Council as i understand it.
-
I'm determined to enjoy this season no matter what, it may be the last season as a Bees supporter (hopefully not!)
-
The stadium employed the track staff ever since Horton took over I believe. The problem was they employed someone who was clearly not qualified, at least they've now its sorted. Track was decent last year.
-
The Polish taxi driver doing the track prep 😂. Luckily we now have a decent curator and the track was decent pretty much all year.
-
It was rumoured that Broadstreet rugby club could be a venue for the Bees, it's situated by the tgi island. Wasps have now put planning permission to use the venue temporarily as a training ground while they build there new state of the art training facility. Plenty of information on the save Coventry speedway facebook page about what the group have recently done.
-
It was never that much but administration did the trick. Funny thing is the club (sisu) is now trying to sue the council for loss of earnings after the council loaned ACL (the company running the Ricoh) 16m claiming that loan was state aid but also meant the club had to suffer administration and move away from Coventry.
-
Haha. Wasps now have full control of the Ricoh with CCFC as tenants. Oh and less of the dying football club wrbare getting promoted... hopefully.
-
Coventry Telegraph says its between the Binley Woods and Toll Bar junctions. Brandon Lane keeps getting mentioned as it seems Coventry Council own land in that area. Horton thinks a track can be put down and temporary facilities can be put in place to start with or sharing with Leicester for the season, which I guess will be more likely in 2017.

I would have agreed with you when our side was name but not now. A few teams are worse than us!
