  1. I have to say that was an excellent meeting. Most riders made a pass at some point, Nicholls-Bomber heat could've gne either way but Nicholls just always managed to get the outside run. Thought KK was going to get Zagar on the line in heat 15 and Garrity looked very good round there after his first ride, made some excellent passes. Overall Belle Vue deserved the win but that poor start really cost us. How Worrall got away with that start in heat 2 I have no idea. As for the stadium, very good. Obviously issues with ticketing but I'd advise get them printed the £1 extra will be worth it. Perhaps will need more kiosks behind the back straight when the world cup is on though! Oh and nowhere to dry your hands in the toilets which is a bit shoddy.
  2. Seems to be plenty of Bees fans heading up today. Not expecting anything but looking forward to seeing the new stadium and good racing. I'd take a point today!
  3. Well we have an extra hour to get to Manchester 👍.
  4. Blimey, why are people taking offence to this? Ridiculous!
  5. I miss the days of having an early meeting at Cradley and the return at Brandon the same day.
  6. Ive just done that, will be on the back straight. Weather forecast seems good to so should be a good one.
  7. Certainly seems to be a fair few Bees fans taking the trip up tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if Woryna didnt ride tomorrow after the awful news yesterday.
  8. How anybody can suggest that Lindgren scoring 5 didnt weaken the Bees is truly baffling. KK averages around 8 at home. Also missing Bates which weakened us further.
  9. It ws very harsh to exclude Woryna as he was just trying to avoid Garrity as his bike slowed. This is one of them quotes where you had to be there not make assumptions of an incident.
  10. Fricke lives in Coventry, has a Coventry company as his main sponsor and if you believe the odd rumour almost joined the Bees this season. Excellent win for the Bees who were obviously weakened with KK and Bates missing. The biggest thing for me was the crowd, thats exactly what we need more of going forward
  11. Possibly, my first thought when I heard it was near Nuneaton.
  12. I cant work out why he would want to sell unless he had to?
  13. Weakens us not having Bates but Woryna can take the extra ride if necessary.
  14. The councillor addressed this and said it wasn't because it was green belt it was because the only access was a one track road with no option to extend.
  15. There is still a lot of things we can persue to get racing at Brandon next season. Councillor Stokes was particularly impressive and suggested more than once than any housing would be refuse on the site for a variety of reasons especially over 200 dwellings. Under the surface of the meeting it seems there could be a deal reached where both keep the stadium and build some houses on the site subject to planning obviously. The developers also need permission to demolish the stadium, asbestos and other issues could make that prolonged. Still a hell if a lot to fight for the developers haven't said no to next season but they are still talking to the councillor so hopefully us and stox can still get a longer lease. Also at the meeting a statement from Heaver revealed they like a site 13 miles from Brandon but still near Coventry, going by that it must be the opposite side of the City but we will have to wait and see on that....
  16. The campaign will be featured at 5.15 pm on BBC C&W and the Cov telegraph will be blogging our meeting tonight live if you want to keep updated.
  17. Like for like at best but a decent guest all the same.
  18. True that they havent yet found a suitable site is worrying but the fact that Rugby Council have and will continue to be behind Speedway/Stock Car and will continue to help identify sites is welcome. Some councils would've washed their hands of it by now. I wonder if Coventry City Council and Warwick Council would like to help too?
  19. Our campaign is being reported on local BBC news this morning. As I run the twitter page I know there is plenty of local media interest. Things are now moving along and will be interesting to hear what is said tonight and can then plot our next course of action.
  20. I'm just too young to see Olsen ride but as regards Bomber the 2010 playoff final where he got up after getting ran over will always put him up there. We had the title in the bag once he sprinted off the track and then won that brilliant rerun. Personally my all time favourite Bee was Tommy Knudsen though.
