  1. Just their partners. The deal was different this year to make more cheaper for fans to attend. Previously it was I think £55 and it was just a meal, this year was £45 with a meal and free drinks from 8pm. The way I see it is most rider and partner would have spent a large amount in previous events (was at Hilton so bar prices expensive) so this year it was probably cheaper for most riders considering the free bar. The thing that bugs me it was suggested that other riders would miss it too but that was obviously a lie and they all made the effort. If it was that much of an issue for Bomber then go alone surely?
  2. All were there apart from Bomber. Poor show from him considering 2 came from Poland yet Bomber lives one junction away and didn't show.
  3. The dinner and dance is tonight I bet there will be rumours flying around.
  4. Would not be surprised in the slightest if Bomber was at Poole next year.
  5. Bomber has to be more attractive to clubs on that average.
  6. Coventry announced a year or two back that they were going into partnership with Wasps. I said it was an excellent idea as Wasps have made a huge success in moving to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Since then we have heard literally nothing about it. Shame because Coventry Blaze (Ice Hockey) seem to have a decent partnership with Wasps.
  7. To be fair we've always signed who were at the time 'number ones' on a lower average which gave us points to play with. Certainly wouldn't say no to AJ for 2017!
  8. I'm surprised Coventry Storm didn't fold half way through the season so the news of the meetings not being run came as no surprise. Coventry Speedway must've lost quite a bit of money running the Storm this year.
  9. Rogers put it on his own Facebook. I agree Olly Allen would be a good pick for the Bees if he wants it. Very well respected in the sport and he seems to have his head screwed on. Rumours of Rob Lyon leaving Kings Lynn so maybe an option? Has experience.
  10. It's has to be a disappointment that he couldn't get some very good prospects to the club. A factor in why crowds were so poor as initially the were ok.
  11. Lawarence Rogers leaves. Probably not a surprise considering the Storm might not even run next year.
  12. I think every clubs thread will have a EDR debate considering it is part (or was) of the team building. It's not been helped on this thread by Shovlar constantly saying that Newman would be under 4, he's a Poole rider isn't he?
  13. Good opportunity for Havvy to be part of that.
  14. Glasgow seem to retweeting a few tweets from fans about speedway under floodlights from last night's meeting. I just wonder if a change of race night and a move up to EL is going to happen. Probably not!
  15. Rosco and Horton both said that last year's AGM was rushed and things that happened wasn't right. I think the way the draft was conducted ( if there was even a draft), the heatleader list and not reverting back to the old heat format were the main ones.
  16. Seriously comparing the two? Bates started last season (2015) as a PL reserve with a 3pt average and has now progressed into the top 5 with a 5 pt average. He's improved in 2 seasons.
  17. Every year there are riders who have a good year or poor year. Thats part of the art of team building, trying to find riders that you think can improve on their averages. Tai's average was obtained fairly and recently, it didn't need changing.
  18. So if we use converted averages we will have this crazy scenario. Bates averaged 4.76 for Coventry while Sarjeant averaged 3.81 in the EL. Converting PL averages Sarjeant would have a higher average than Bates for the 2017 EL season. How can that be right?
  19. It's an easy thing to get around. You just get sponsor's to pay riders the extra wages instead of sponsors putting money into the club.
  20. The 2015 side was mainly made up of riders Havvy wanted. 2016 Havvy was in hospital so didn't help with the team building. I agree though the sooner a manager is named the better. Still disappointed I've not been contacted 😂
  21. Well it's usually a weekend isn't it? So I guess 4th-6th November.
  22. A strong reserve is key and I hope the promotion realise that for 2017 whichever format they decide. Does anyone actually know the date of the AGM seems a bit hush hush at the moment.
  23. I wouldn't be sure if any rider from 2016 is owed money from riders actions. KK wouldn't have ridden a night before a GP and Woryna wouldn't have rode the night before the SEC if we owed them money. Woryna wants to be back next season. Of course we will be riding, Coventry Speedway now own the lease for the stadium Personally I think a more solid 1-7 is the way we will go.
