  1. Horton naivety was assuming Sandhu wanted a rental deal. I've said privately to people on here that Sandhu just wanted out, he didn't even make any kind of attempt to get a lease. We were told that that Brandon Estates wouldnt even entertain the idea. I was a little shocked that the statement came out about the working relationship for both sports next year and I believed it was all sorted (that was my naivety). Now it seems we have a shell of a stadium.
  2. Not really. We were told that Stox will continue so why would we as fans think that things at the stadium would be removed. Stox needed these things as much as speedway. Stox rent, food and drink and not having to replace things to run equals more money into Coventry Speedway than in previous years. Stox not running and things needed to be replaced for us having any chance of running equals less money.
  3. But who knew that floodlights and all fixture and fittings would be removed? Also all the Shale has been sold. We were also told Stox would run there but now that's doesn't seem to be the case. Things are very different from a month ago.
  4. I don't think it'll look so bad when the other sides are announced but I'd have liked it to be a little different. Instead of Sarj and Kerr I'd have liked a big hitter and low average reserve but I suppose with what's going on at Brandon money is needed more elsewhere.
  5. I'm quite sure Jeremy Heaver has said in the past that seating, floodlights etc could be used for the new stadium. Hopefully this was all known about and Horton, Brandon Estates and maybe Buildbase have plans in place and/or helping out with supplies. A catering firm taking over the food and beverage kiosks has been rumoured for example so it may not be a shock to Coventry Speedway. As for the team it does seem the final 3 will be Garrity, Kerr and Sarj.
  6. Sandhu is probably trying to take what he can. Doesn't matter what Sandhu says hes irrelevant to the lease from 2017. Brandon Estates (site owner) is providing sponsorship so I guess them and Horton knew this was happening and the funds they are providing will help replace the essentials. To be honest the only worry is the floodlight rumour the rest can wait
  7. She's not local so must have read it elsewhere. I asked the question on the save cov speedway twitter feed and a local said floodlights we on until 8pm the other night. Possibly some have been removed? A new catering firm is supposedly running the food and drink areas next season so I guess the stripping of the bars and kiosks wouldn't be a surprise, if true of course. To me if this is in fact true Sandhu is having another hissy fit. I'm sure it's no coincidence this happening while Horton isn't in the country. Edit. Someone has just confirmed floodlights were on last night as it lights up the sky around the whole area.
  8. Stock Car fans are not convinced about being at Brandon next year.
  9. The statement they put out several weeks back says they have a "working relationship" for 2017. Do I trust Sandhu? No. He didn't even try to get an extended lease. I will be unlikely to get the chance but if I do I may try to pop down tomorrow to look myself.
  10. I think so too. Just strange about the floodlights.
  11. We will have to see about the new stadium but a few people are saying floodlights have been taken down at Sandhu's request. I'm hoping that's wrong and it's just for maintenance as some were not working during the season and it wouldn't make much sense as his stox are running at Brandon next year.
  12. I have no idea why people just assume the rumoured team is the actual team, especially as it was posted by people om social media fishing for bites. Even the last team I put up had the 4 riders that are signed, it wasn't rocket science they'd be at the club. It might turn out to be the team but I highly doubt it.
  13. I know he's rumoured to join Coventry but if Kings Lynn are not going to use Lewis Kerr he maybe an option for Swindon? 5.9 average will leave about 6 for your reserves. Doyle, Morris, Ellis, Bellego and Kerr won't be a bad top 5 at all.
  14. Is Hans riding in the Danish league? Klindt will likely miss a few home meetings if he signs for Poole.
  15. The ride Sundays but occasionally on Fridays. To be honest I would be shocked if Kings Lynn don't want him on that average. Bates is a Sheffield asset and I think L. Bjerre is a Peterborough asset so Sheffield will get priority.
  16. If we go down the Kerr/Sarj/Bates route as bottom 3 at least we will always pick up points from 1-7. It may not be a spectacular side but it will have a solid look with no weak links as such. It will probably look better when all the other sides are named.
  17. I don't think it would be terrible either but Sarj on that average is a huge risk for me after last season for Coventry. The other 6 I'd be happy enough with. I would prefer another heat leader instead though.
  18. When the rules were announced and I looked at the PL averages I was shocked he was that low. Coventry should see the benefit on that average.
  19. King was 8th in the EL averages last season probably upto 5th for 2017 considering some will not be in Britain in 2017. That makes him a number one especially with the league being weaker. Kylmakorpi and Bjerre would be terrific back up, both can push him for the number 1 spot.
  20. Agree, it can still be messed up. Hopefully Schlein will be announced next. Horton did say Kylmakorpi was one of his favourite riders so.......
  21. 3 out of the 4 (King probably drop a little) can improve their starting average, not many sides will have 3 from 7.
  22. Lasse Bjerre another decent signing on that average. Just hope it's not ruined by sentimentality in signing Sarj on that over inflated average.
