  1. Cheers Steve. You and most others have been very supportive over the last few days.
  2. It's brilliant news but I won't be 100% convinced until tapes up. We've had so many ups and downs recently. Hopefully this can finally be a start where Horton and Sandhu actually work together for the benefit of both sports in the Coventry area. That is absolutely vital going forward. Many thanks to Cllr Stokes who has again gone above and beyond to help keep the sports going. He's not bad for a tory 😂
  3. According to the Telegraph there is a deal on the table. Will it be signed? A move to Leicester would only work if it was only for a year and there was a track waiting after that year. Pointless otherwise.
  4. No towel as been thrown, the Telegraph says they are talking this evening. Weird considering the Coventry Stox statement earlier in the day said Horton wasn't going to take on the lease. Hope the talks are productive.
  5. Yes he starting the ball rolling by getting a lease that Sandhu had no interest in getting. If Horton didn't have a lease there wouldn't even be a Coventry 2017 thread. If Horton didn't secure a lease, who would? It's Sandhu lease that finishes tomorrow. Hortons lease starts Jan 1st till Oct 31st A friend of mine went to Brandon to look at the actual damage. It's not just the seating that's been damaged, he think things have been taken without any care and the wiring around the place is badly damaged. I'm sorry to say I just don't see Sandhu actually paying to fix and replace things if he is only going to rent from Horton, would make no sense. My mate thinks it would cost a fortune
  6. They didn't have to rip out the seats then smash them to bits or rip out the bar fitting and put them in a skip. They did though. Then why doesn't Sandhu want the lease if he's prepared to do all that?
  7. Cheers pal. Both are to blame regarding the deal and subsequent statements but with reports of the seats smashed I'm not sure some of the stuff will see a new stadium (if we ever see one). Cllr Stokes said he wasn't and I took that in good faith but it doesn't sit right with me after recent events. Sandhu and Co have never even tried to get a longer deal and we're adamant 2016 was the end. Why?
  8. I can't do links but the Coventry observer has done a report. Sandhu has had all the seats smashed, why do that if you want to get a deal to continue racing there? Crazy.
  9. Rumours were around a while ago that Sandhu is actually part of Brandon Estates, the site owners. In effect he sold it to himself. Wonder if there is any truth in it. I didn't believe this but I have to wonder.
  10. Heaver is promoter but the stox contract is with Sandhu's company. Heaver basically works for Sandhu. Going by Bjerre and Kerr tweets the Coventry Stox statement seems incorrect when it says riders have been told the can look elsewhere. Yet anyway!
  11. He could in the theory take over the lease if Horton doesn't really want to use it. That's if Sandhu really wants the sports to run.
  12. Both certainly have acted like children. I just cannot believe Horton would go to all that trouble and not use the lease when he could've just walked away anyway after the original lease finished.
  13. Why would Horto go to all that trouble to go to many meetings using many hours to get a lease then not use it. He could've just walked away after Sandhu's lease finished, it wouldve been far easier. Makes zero sense. There is only one action that's going to definitely stop both Speedway and Stox running next season and that's removing what's needed to run.
  14. He didn't say he was. He says he's assessing the damage.
  15. If they knew Horton wasn't going to use the lease why don't they negotiate a new lease with the stadium owners? No need to strip the stadium then is there! I dont see why both sports cant have a seperate lease. Jeez how all very childish
  16. Yep thats correct but they should release a statement about the relationship with Sandhu and Co.
  17. It could be but im doubtful. They made zero attempt to get a new lease. At the last Save Cov Speedway meeting they said they were happy to run stox at various different venues in 2017.
  18. Only how I see it but it's probably Sandhu's way of getting the cheapest rental deal possible. Of course he could've actually tried to get the stadium lease himself in the first place instead of telling everyone no deal could be done with the new site owner.
  19. It's a slightly stronger PL. You really do have to get away from what the riders were at EL level.
  20. I was winding up some people. Honestly before the AGM changes I thought we would see him here but that changed once we had the 50pt limit, average conversion and change of manager.
  21. The structure is sound though so they will just shut it off to spectators if seats are not in place. We don't need seats to run that was my point, Wolves and Swindon manage it. I should add that it seems only a block or 2 of seats have been removed Thanks for that, much appreciated.
  22. I don't care about the seats. I care about the stuff needed to run, seats doesn't really matter.
  23. It's basically last year PL with a bit more quality, British speedway can't afford the top stars anymore. I have to say though riders do improve I remember the riders you named being reserves too at one point, riders all have to start somewhere.
