Apparently there is an article in today's Coventry Telegraph written by Bees press officer David Rowe. Has anyone seen it, it's not online as yet.

We were told in 2014 that Investin Brandon Ltd bought Brandon Stadium and they were the company that had their name splashed all over the development plans when they were shown at the village hall. Recently we've been told Brandon Estates (Jersey) bought the site late 2015 which incidentally was around the same time Brandon Estates ltd (based in Sutton Coldfield) was dissolved. Coincidence? Also there is a company called SSB Homes which had as it's address Brandon Stadium which has since changed it address to Long Acre trading estate, Sandhu list some of his businesses there. Sandhu isn't listed as a director but is a shareholder, his family are listed as directors however. Maybe a coincidence but they list their assets at 2.6m, fits in with around the price of Brandon. SSB Homes specialise in the development and design of residential property. It's all very dodgy if you ask me and questions need to be asked.
-
Agree. Shovlar has his faults but on this occasion he's done nothing wrong here. Contractors have definitely been in and tidied the place up since Sandhu handed the keys back. There were transit vans there just before new year so I guess they were there for that. I wonder who paid for the clean up?
-
But of course theyve moved stadiums. I'd hope if Brandon had a similar project the stadium would stay where it is!
-
Fully agree with this. I couldn't care any less about the 'background' things all that matters is a track that is fit and safe enough to run. It isn't at present. The Ricoh is a great facility but it wouldn't be much good if there was a hole instead of a pitch.
-
Yes this Brandon Estates is based in Jersey so isn't at companies house. It's been tidied up since the last set of photos. Unfortunately it doesn't stop the fact we need the track, fencing and floodlights fixed.
-
He did want to upgrade Brandon a while back but was refused permission because he wouldn't budge over 1 metre. I think it's highly likely he will benefit from development on the site in whatever capacity, developing houses on the site will make 2.2m look like pocket money in comparison. Developing the site for housing is a long way away though.
-
It's something Cllr Stokes alluded to at a meeting as he doubts 250 houses would ever be allowed on the site.
-
Fans contributed to the air fence and they got their name on them for the contribution.
-
Heaver saying it was sold for £2.2m and a new stadium would cost £5m makes no sense to me. That's £2.8 million extra Sandhu has to put in even though he had a perfectly good stadium in the first place. Brandon Estates claim the fixture and fittings belongs to them so I guess Horton rightly or wrongly went along with that.
-
I feel I will be one. Tempted to get a season ticket to watch Rugby League in the City but I've been holding off hoping for good news.
-
Horton leases off Brandon Estates who have a dispute with Sandhu. I've very much doubt Brandon Estates would want Sandhu operating at the stadium at this stage.
-
Horton will never sign a deal with Sandhu until he gets the ok from Brandon Estates which I doubt will ever come. I fear it's now the end but its interesting that Horton is in talks with Rugby Council.
-
It seems that way to me.
-
I certainly havent ruled out Sandhu having a part in Brandon Estates. It would make sense with what's gone on.
-
There won't be until the dispute between Sandhu and Brandon Estates is resolved.
-
They can use the manure you spout on here. What an absolute tool you are.
-
We have to wait to see if Sandhu and Brandon Estates can sort out their disagreement before anything can happen at the stadium.
-
Now the country is getting back to normality I guess we will hear this week whether any work on the stadium has/hasn't started

You don't have to be a fan of Coventry to be outraged, you just have to be a speedway fan who sees the bigger picture.

My original post did say 'IF' we run. We will need to improve our social media presence if we want to get decent crowds especially with new clubs being established in the City. Not sure why Poole fans are being all high and mighty about it, their social media presence isn't great either and the website is awful. To be fair your reply was basically look how great Poole are at doing it when in reality they are not so great.
-
Happy new year fellow Bees fans. Let's hope 2016 wasn't our last year and hope 2017 sees us running and maybe even successful.
-
Coventry city have far more supporters that AFC Bournemouth, we are just boycotting at the moment 😂, I'm shocked we still get 9,000 regularly. Wasps got 26,000 the other day and their next game will get similar numbers. Coventry Blaze attracted I think 2,600 last night and Cov Rugby got a similar crowd recently. Even Netball had 4,500 in attendance. This is why I asked about increased social media from the club because if they don't we will get swallowed up with the other sports now in the area. I know this winter is a little different with the situation we find ourselves in but if we do run we need to improve that aspect. I did get a reply from Robin Allen who does the twitter feed and he said his aim is to get more fan interaction but at times his hands are tied.
-
If we do run in 2017 the promotion need to do more to promote the club within the City of Coventry. There is virtually zero presence of the Coventry Bees IN the City. I've had several people wondering why that is. Also needs more interaction on social media. Cov Blaze (ice hockey) 19k followers on twitter, Bees 7.5k. Not good enough to be honest. Us and other speedway clubs really do not help themselves.

Fully agree with this especially when you see a rider make a perfect start but gets pulled back because the other 3 make poorer starts. If you don't touch the tapes then there is no infringement.
