  1. Great news, just waiting on my team! If Coventry doesnt run I can see myself making a few trips up to Manchester.
  2. Depends how many small steps have already been made. It seems there is actually a will to get Brandon running so hopefully they can agree to let Sandhu in and put stuff back in.
  3. Why would riders listen to Horton if they've been released? They have no need to lie. Getting released in future is a possibility but when riders say they haven't yet I would go with what they say.
  4. He is. We had Danny King mechanic rubbishing the rumour and Kenneth Bjerre reaction to the statement was 🙏 which suggests he's hoping to ride for Coventry. I will be honest I believed the rumours this morning as I was told Friday would be D-day. This statement has given me some hope once again, it's certainly like a roller coaster supporting the Bees in recent years!
  5. Anything being said can impact any negotiations, especially as it seems their is obvious dispute. I meant that he could say that he knows it's frustrating for the fans but he's been advised not to comment on negotiations and he remains committed to run. Simple. It's complex and not between just two people.
  6. Or 3 say hes been advised not to make any comment Danny Kings mechanic (I think it is) says as far as hes aware it not true at all that riders have been told to look elsewhere
  7. I think this legal situation was done to cause this outcome. No Bees in 2017 will likely mean no Bees for the foreseeable future. Read the Telegraph article. The hold up is the dispute between Sandhu and Brandon Estates. The lease can't be signed until that's resolved but I fear that's the point of them doing it in the first place.
  8. I think when it does come out we might understand the need of total silence from him. Also been told the riders will be released from their contracts tonight unless something drastic happens.
  9. Yep there is no way anyone would sign a lease on something that isn't fit for purpose.
  10. Sources have suggested the legal dispute between Brandon Estates and Sandhu has meant a delay in the speedway stadium lease passing onto Mick Horton as expected, causing further doubt on the future of motorsport on the site. From Coventry Telegraph. Warwickshire Police are also investigating theft and criminal damage still. Horton and Brandon Estates make no comment. Brandon Estates have said police have asked them not to comment And Brandon Estates who have delayed it all (on purpose?) by getting police involved when not entirely necessary
  11. I was told the other day we would hear something today and that there was a meeting with the BSPA also today. As with everything else I brushed it aside but seems that at least some of it maybe correct. Now we have these rumours coming out it's the time for Coventry Speedway to confirm or deny this.
  12. I don't like rumours they tend to be rubbish especially during this debacle but it does seem likely this is the end. I understand the shale went to Stoke but it could have easily moved on elsewhere.
  13. BSPA said we will get more news early next week.
  14. Amen! Exactly what I've been saying.
  15. If you read the thread you would understand what he meant by silence. He said he and Mick were singing from the same hymn sheet so posters responses with jokes and hymns he then responded to with a hymn. He wasn't saying he wanted to silence fans about the situation at Brandon. As for the last paragraph maybe your right but I'd prefer they give a statement when a decision is made not rhetoric we've had from other parties on this. Just my opinion.
  16. The Ricoh currently has 3 clubs using it as it's home. Wasps Rugby, Wasps Netball and CCFC. It's also held Rugby League (international and club) and also Snooker in recent months.
  17. Bizarrely Hemsley joined the Save Cov Speedway Facebook page the other day.
  18. It seems they haven't "moved on" despite what Heaver has said, another back track from him. We will get some news next week hopefully.
  19. Speedway Gb tweeted "We acknowledge the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club and we hope to bring you more early next week"
  20. It was spoken about at Save Cov Speedway meetings. The site is massive and for its future it needs more locals and businesses to use it. Doctors, Dentists, a gym, a nursery etc could be built on the site and not take that much space. There it's lots of ways to go if there is a will to do it.
  21. Those things get a budget from central government and that money is ring fenced to spend on that only. Not everything a council will do will help the whole area it runs, that's impossible. If a council looks at something and think it could potentially damage an area it can look into it and see if it's worth putting money in to it. If residents of Binley Woods, Brandon and other areas around the stadium want it saved then why shouldnt them areas have some of the money they contribute in council tax. Of course it has to be worth it but just because the majority of the Rugby population don't care doesn't mean it shouldn't happen. If they took the compulsory purchase order as a serious option they wouldn't have to buy the whole site would they?
  22. We just want a track that's safe to run, the rest doesn't matter and can wait. It must be quite easy to set up a mobile bar or 2 (like Belle Vue) and get a couple of burger vans in.
  23. That crossed my mind when it was said Horton and Cllr Stokes were having discussions. They could then buy Sandhu's fixture and fittings if he indeed was happy to sell.
