  1. The article was a bit of a guess wasn't it.
  2. And again! The stadium owners are stopping us from using the stadium as things stand because they have issue with Sandhu.
  3. I couldnt do it when I'm on a Friday day shift. This post is completely wrong in all aspects. Sandhu took his stuff because of Brandon Estates not Horton, Horton doesn't own the stadium ffs!
  4. A poor meeting, match or whatever can always happen in sport. Happens in Football, Rugby and Ice Hockey but you still get the crowd interacting as the players walk out to music, guard of honour etc, it usually carries on. Speedway has even more scope for crowd interaction between races but no one takes the time to plan how to present and do it.
  5. The riders walk out at Brandon for example is/was pathetic. Riders just walk on, no introductions, no guard of honour (get the kids to do it) or any music that could get a crowd going. Get some flags for people to wave, make it look like fans are involved. A simple thing with simple solutions to get some crowd interaction. The start of a night of racing can set the tone of the night.
  6. They've worked hard for that. Something that speedway can learn from.
  7. Yes I do know Coventry Rugby Club, I used to have a season ticket as a child (think i was 13) when they were still at Coundon road. Went to Moseley school behind it and the players sometimes trained on the school field. I still attend occasionally just like I do with every major Coventry sports team, there are a few!
  8. I not sure if he is or isn't I've had several different stories I don't know what to believe. I do think that Sandhu is likely to make money from houses at Brandon though. Something is certainly going on in the background.
  9. 😂. Talking about Wasps though if we do move to Leicester then Horton and Neil Watson should ask Wasps how they helped their fans from the south make the trip to Coventry. 2 years later many are still attending games regularly.
  10. After the Wasps game that was, I couldn't make the gig!
  11. Erm not sure that's quite right about music gigs. I've seen gigs at Ricoh Arena bowl, Ericsson exhibition hall, The Empire and at Warwick Arts Centre in the last 2 years. Also Wasps haven't been based in London for years. Edited to add Godiva Festival too.
  12. It wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference if Horton agreed with Sandhu or not. Brandon Estates quite obviously don't want Sandhu operating at Brandon.
  13. It's either because he's since changed from Coventry to Leicester or we've changed our race night I guess.
  14. I guess that ours and Leicesters home fixtures are TBC is because it's not decided which race night the clubs will ride? It has Cov Friday and Leicester Saturdays, could it be that they just switch if they have opposite race nights? The away fixtures don't say TBC so thats got to be a positive?
  15. Yep I can't see Rugby Council allowing this. The entrance will be used constantly 24/7 with huge vehicles going in and out.
  16. I've seen a few post from some and they certainly are not happy.
  17. Don't see what Horton can do in this situation can you? I find it truly baffling that people are blaming Horton for this, this is what happens when a site gets sold to a faceless Jersey based company. What was Horton meant to do? The stadium isn't fit for purpose.
  18. The problem we've had is people believing Sandhu would build a new one. I'm all up for a fund so we can raise money to build a track, we have the stox fan base to which could help. Problem is we need land.
  19. What you don't understand is it won't be easy to find land suitable. Plus we have to get over the hurdle of getting permission for a stadium while one is still standing. I think our best hope ( if Brandon is gone for good) is that if they do get planning permission on housing it stipulates that they must provide funds for a new stadium nearby. There are previous cases of this.
  20. Rugby Council are already trying to find us some suitable land. Coventry Council have said there is none suitable.
  21. I don't think we will see speedway at Brandon ever but while it's standing we still have to try and save it. We have to do what we can and if we don't run less people will be interested in doing anything about it.
  22. If we bought the club how would it be any different? The club don't own the stadium and haven't done for a long time.
