When I said I'm not sure why he sold it to them is because to me it seems Brandon Estates (or people involved within it) have an obvious grudge with Sandhu which possibly pre dates the sale of the site. I agree that's why I'm not sure keeping the sports out would be the best tactic especially at this point. They may aswell earn something from the site while at the same time having an up and running stadium to sell should they decide to sell the site.

Coventry asked for the ELRC last year.

Clubs bid for these events so they obviously benefit from it.

I agree upto a point. Not sure why he chose to sell it to them. Still wondering what happened to Bees being safe at Brandon till 2023 which was announced in 2013

Very much doubt Horton is. I dont think that was their orignal plan as they were happy for Horton to carry on and in fact sponsor the club. That has probably changed now for the worse. There are many things that will block planning, Speedway and Stox still running wouldn't be top of the list. It's a bit of a risky strategy considering all of the hurdles in front of them, they could in a few years time have some land with a unused stadium and no chance of planning. A running stadium does give them an out so to speak.

You do realise it's Brandon Estates that's the reason for the position we are in? They didnt/don't want Sandhu operating at Brandon for whatever reason.
-
It was quite clear but some haven't seemed to grasp that a deal needs to be agreed first.
-
I'm not.

Our situation was raised in parliament today by local MP Mark Pawsey who also leads the Speedway parliamentary group.

I was going to mention Sarj being far too low, considering he was a 2nd string in the PL and occasionally EL last year. I know it's about opinions but statistically he's better than that probably 5th?

Leicester chose Saturday.

It's at Stoke from what I gather

It why I've suggested the Save Cov speedway group run it. To be honest I'd like to keep it as the NSSC run it helping youngsters as it's what sets us apart from some other clubs. We as fans can surely find other ways of raising money. I wouldn't trust Horton with my donation either.

Bridger is local too isn't he?

I hope the 50/50 will revert back. No point having a 50/50 with a stadium fund if fans don't want it, it will achieve nothing. Both sides (Horton and Sandhu) should just let fans raise money whichever way we wish. We are already having a big change in going to Leicester let's just keep every thing else the same. Time for us fans to start thinking of ways to get back to (near) Coventry with Save Cov Speedway leading the way.

A deal needs to be agreed between Sandhu and Brandon Estates first.
-
Not sure there was ever a proposal for that was there? I do remember they asked if we knew of houses for sale locally, surely a Google search would've done.
-
It cannot be run by the club if they want the draw to be a stadium fund.

Exactly How Much Weaker Is This Years League?
Woz01 replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Last year I watched some excellent racing live and on Sky. -
Something about a stadium fund. We can raise money in other ways for a stadium fund but the 50/50 must stay. Also if there is to be a fund it must be run by members of the Save cov speedway group and not just one person. As for the sponsors one of the local coach companies should be contacted especially as the club will need to use one this season. Might give fans very cheap travel.

I don't think they were going to be title sponsor I think Sandhu is helping us with funds, while we are at Leicester at least.
-
I think it will be difficult to find one.
-
Not surprising news that Buildbase will no longer be title sponsor. Good news that they do remain as a 'normal' sponsor though.
-
Yep in Leicester 😂. Sorry I couldn't resist!

So let's stop giving fans who were never going to go to PK farewell a chance to attend a meeting elsewhere. It's not like the track are close either, must be near 100 miles apart. PK farewell will attract a big crowd anyway and rightly so, I don't think that a track 100 miles away running a meeting will have an effect.
