  1. I've suggested half season tickets and/or match packages in the past. Surprised it's not done by most clubs.
  2. Exactly what I just posted on Facebook, if it was the other way round and Leicester at Brandon I'd consider it. A few people have said that they are now going to Leicester when they wasn't originally.
  3. 8 meetings for £100 is superb value, fair play to the promotion. OAPs and students £80
  4. I doubt many (if any) will be sold unless there is news about a return to Brandon. Personally I don't know why people buy them anyway it's not like it's a massive saving. Don't know why the don't do a 6 meeting package that would possibly help getting numbers to Leicester
  5. Start time this season will be 7.45 and season tickets and admission prices will be announced shortly.
  6. That airport idea would've wiped out loads of villages. There is land near Coventry Airport but it seems its earmarked for warehousing units. There was one site that would've been ideal but it was advised planning would fail due to access in and out of the site at Brandon Farm.
  7. I said before the GP season started on of the GP threads that I thought Doyle would have an excellent series. Didn't expect him to be that good though. Shame he let himself down a bit with the GB comments.
  8. As someone who is in Manchester at the moment heading to watch Wasps at Sale, I would love that idea. Thing is when Wasps bought the operating company of the Ricoh Arena they had a ready made exhibition hall that can hold indoor sports. Wouldn't be surprised if they started a Basketball team too. Most speedway clubs don't have the numbers but Coventry is a little different as we have decent fan base and add the Stox fans too. 3,600 are on our Save Cov Speedway Facebook page.
  9. He's never said that. He said that they are determined to return to Brandon. Never said that was certain. But we were told in 2013 that we had at least 10 years even if it was sold. We would've been in this position anyway even if fans set up a fund or whatever.
  10. I hear Horton isnt fully funding the Leicester move, he has help. Could do with a sponsor though. There 'should' be 24 hour security on the site.
  11. Purely based on Speedway then it has to be Kelvin.
  12. I have Poole 2nd favourites behind Kings Lynn.
  13. They are just asking fans if they would like to use a coach service. They have suggested pick up points on way but nothing is finalised yet.
  14. The club are looking at providing coaches to Leicester so if travel can be arranged to Leicester how many people will use it at a cost of £5 return? Personally I think the price is very reasonable. I will try and pass people who are interested back to Trevor Randle who asked the original question. Edit to add they are also looking at giving free programmes for people using the service.
  15. Possibly but you'd have to be pretty crazy to try and burn that down especially with residents very close by.
  16. 29th August 2014 under the name Investin Brandon Ltd (jersey) then changed the name in 2015 to Brandon Estates (jersey). A Brandon Estates in Sutton Coldfield was dissolved in 2015 and there is an Investin Brandon Ltd still trading based in Solihull both local ish to Brandon. Yep your spot on. Due to the amount of asbestos it would require permission from the council to demolish it. That was from Cllr Stokes.
  17. When I said I'm not sure why he sold it to them is because to me it seems Brandon Estates (or people involved within it) have an obvious grudge with Sandhu which possibly pre dates the sale of the site. I agree that's why I'm not sure keeping the sports out would be the best tactic especially at this point. They may aswell earn something from the site while at the same time having an up and running stadium to sell should they decide to sell the site.
  18. Coventry asked for the ELRC last year.
  19. Clubs bid for these events so they obviously benefit from it.
  20. I agree upto a point. Not sure why he chose to sell it to them. Still wondering what happened to Bees being safe at Brandon till 2023 which was announced in 2013
  21. Very much doubt Horton is. I dont think that was their orignal plan as they were happy for Horton to carry on and in fact sponsor the club. That has probably changed now for the worse. There are many things that will block planning, Speedway and Stox still running wouldn't be top of the list. It's a bit of a risky strategy considering all of the hurdles in front of them, they could in a few years time have some land with a unused stadium and no chance of planning. A running stadium does give them an out so to speak.
  22. You do realise it's Brandon Estates that's the reason for the position we are in? They didnt/don't want Sandhu operating at Brandon for whatever reason.
  23. It was quite clear but some haven't seemed to grasp that a deal needs to be agreed first.
  24. Our situation was raised in parliament today by local MP Mark Pawsey who also leads the Speedway parliamentary group.
