Just been told that on Cov and Warwick radio it was said Jeff Davies and Dave Rowe are trying to get us back on track next year and have meetings planned for this to happen. These guys absolutely love the club and we should all as fans do what we can to help them achieve this.
-
If the stadium was in a good condition we still wouldn't be at Brandon this season.

Cllr Stokes statement tells us what we need to know. The one person who has been in these negotiations and is impartial yet you choose to dismiss it. Staggering.

Will Coventry Complete The Season?
Woz01 replied to Agrotron's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I did post this before the announcement. Unfortunately being admin for some of the social media sites I get a few rumours. This one I got several times yesterday which obviously turned out to be correct. -
I put this on my social media earlier. A huge part of life died today, devestated. The reality of it all is sinking in.
-
If you're implying Sandhu I gather that's not the case although I do have doubts.
-
So it was Sandhu that promised the money?
-
Some things that I've heard regarding all this. Investin Brandon Ltd bought the site in 2014 but changed their name to Brandon Estates ltd in 2015 Sandhu was told by the bank to sell Brandon. Draw your own conclusions why. Sandhu and members of Brandon Estates have 'history' and this is why we are where we are. This is why Horton was at the front of a new lease with Sandhu financing it instead of Sandhu agreeing a new lease. Horton was told by Brandon Estates that Sandhu isn't allowed to operate at Brandon hence the delay and non signing of the lease. Sandhu then took his stuff and made it virtually impossible of motorsport running. Once Sandhu removed the fixture and fittings it made Brandon Estates job easier at stopping the sports running. Wonder why he did that hey? Sandhu is likely make money out of the site if houses are built, there is only one party that isn't going to make money out of this situation. Horton can be blamed for trying to run at Leicester and failing but we shouldn't even have to be in that position. Others are at fault for that. All about money and a grudge. Well this post sums it up far to well.
-
I gather it's the Brandon Estates sponsorship that's been withdrawn
-
Yep agree with this. Horton has been sold down the river on this, maybe his heart ruled his head trying to get us to ride at Leicester but as a fan id want an owner to try and do the same.
-
They should considering they listed one of the reasons being we only had a 8 meetings contract. We all knew that and so did they.
-
This fiasco causes the death of a great club and what will happen is a lot of land with a stadium on it not being used for many years. Scumbags the lot of them.
-
Some finance has seemed to have been withdrawn in recent days probably from Brandon Estates. Gutted, absolutely gutted.
-
It was coming.

I'm not so sure we will even start the season now 🤔 -

Yep Sandhu can't even if he's willing to. We need someone to buy the site who is motorsport friendly, it's a big ask but its a tiny bit of hope. -
No. He was knocked backed over not budging over 1m in height over a new office/stand. Planning said a metre less and it would pass and Sandhu didn't come back with a revised plan. There could be units built on suite but it would likely need a different traffic flow system introduced Exactly something like this. If I could afford the site it's something I'd strongly look at.
-
I do wonder if another Stox promoter will take on Sandhu's fixtures and then invest into the stadium. The site certainly needs to be a 12 month operation that why I've said units for shops/garage/nursery/gym etc that would only take a small proportion of the car park but makes the site owner some revenue during the winter.
-
I really don't think Horton is in any position to buy Brandon. I guess it was an emotional answer more than anything else. Also I would've though Brandon Estates would want there money back.
-
Always said if Brandon Estates do get houses on the site (still doubtful) they'd have to put money towards a new site. Thing is I think if this was enforced it would only be within the Rugby Council area? Time for us fans to start looking as I don't think anyone else can be trusted.
-
The site is vast and could easily have other businesses operating on the site that make stadium owners money and keep the stadium at the same time. It shouldn't be just a stadium or houses, it can be a stadium with a few extras.
-
Now it seems Brandon Estates maybe willing to sell its even more important we keep going for as long as possible. That's how you keep applying pressure, Brandon Estates wouldn't be willing to sell if everyone had given up. Even if he didn't take his stuff from the stadium we would still be in the same position. Brandon Stadium needs stox running at the venue but Brandon Estates won't allow Sandhu to operate.

Anything about sponsorship? 800 to break even but we do have a match v Leicester which I'm sure will help get us close to averaging 800. Say each home meeting we get 500-700 (plausible?) then around 1,500-2,000 for the Leicester match would get us close ish to the 800 figure. Also have a Poole fixture in that.
-
Interesting that Brandon Estates seem willing to sell, Rugby Council suggested they could buy the land in the past. As for the break even figure is 800 achievable? It's going to be difficult but we would need to have a decent start of the season to get near that figure. It pretty much sums up what I thought regarding Sandhu and Brandon Estates, they don't get on and this is the reason we are where we are. 2 parties squabbling will close our club. I guess that was an emotional answer rather than an actual he could. He did say he couldn't afford the 100k for repairs on his own .
-
I do wonder if Brandon Estates think it's worth the bother especially as chances of houses in the near future are remote at best. I'm hopefuly we will hear a bit more tonight about the whole situation.
