Save Coventry Bees Campaign (dont Give Up)
Woz01 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Technically we could just set up a new club. The issue is a stadium obviously but I think there is plenty more to come regarding the ownership of the stadium. I do wonder if they just want out as Horton now does. -
It's been suggested that he relayed the bspa statement to the riders but that's it nothing from the club to the riders. Poor.
-
Although having said this we were told by Jeremy Heaver that sports have tens of years left at Brandon and even in 2013 it was announced we had a 10 year lease.
-
We have/had many assets which is probably why it was that much. Although I have to say with the precarious position the club was in regarding the stadium I'm astounded someone took it on.
-
Who knows. I wouldn't be surprised if Stox ran at Brandon at some point this year.
-
I think getting rid of Horton was part of the plan.

Save Coventry Bees Campaign (dont Give Up)

Well this is the sticking point but we as fans have to make it difficult as possible for the site owners. If rumours are correct that they are willing to sell it shows that it's already working. -

I would certainly trust Colin Pratt. Riders are bound to trust Sandhu because let's be honest when he owned us he was damn good at it. Since he sold the club and stadium I'm not sure he has the same motivation for speedway as he did then. I'm willing to be convinced that he still cares though as I do believe IF his intentions are actually good then the club can still come back and thrive. Some think that some of this was about getting rid of Horton I'm starting to think that's a possibility As for the campaign I absolutely back this, the journalist who started this is a Bees fan so you know his intentions are good. We should also back Jeff Davies and Dave Rowe who are trying to help us to run in 2018 -
It's true it cost him that to buy the club, well that was the figure I heard at the time. Some other parts of the statement were utter rubbish though like telling riders etc.
-
Cllr Stokes said this could be an option although you can't guarantee it as any application is based on planning law.
-
I tried to PM you but wouldn't send. I'm admin on the fb and twitter page but I've not heard much from the people running the group in a while.

I don't believe Sandhu IS Brandon Estates but I'm now certain he is connected to them. I've never said it had nothing to do with Sandhu, it always bugged me why Horton had to get the lease instead of Sandhu just extending his. To be fair they are all at fault at some degree
-
I find it staggering that anyone can have faith in Sandhu. If people did research on Brandon Estates (used to be investin brandon) then they may change their mind.
-
Did they talk about Brandon Estates not allowing Sandhu to operate at the stadium hence Horton having to go and sort a lease? Otherwise why didn't Sandhu just get a new lease?
-
No it wouldn't.

Deleted post.

Just to add Brandon Estates Jersey Ltd was called Investin Brandon jersey Ltd until 2015. There is an Investin Brandon Ltd based in Solihull also.
-
I do wonder if Horton or someone else will name who Brandon Estates actually are. Wouldn't surprise me if it was Sandhu's family, Heaver previously said Sandhu did persuade Brandon Estates to sponsor the Bees. BBC Cov and Warwickshire radio have a Brandon special at 6pm with Bomber, Danny King and Rory Schlein

I think Wolves and Leicester will get a few Bees fans to boost their crowds. I will certainly be going around Midlands tracks this year.
-
The City is actually thriving with redevelopment and 1000s of jobs coming into the city in the next few years.
-
Local newspaper Coventry Observer launches a Save our Bees campaign. It's been 1 day and people are taking action.
-
Well this just made me laugh.
-
It was said by Sandhu's camp that he would put the stuff back once a deal with Horton was agreed, which we were told it was. The problem is Brandon Estates didn't want Sandhu operating at Brandon and wouldn't let him put stuff back anyway. Maybe a tad convenient.
-
Wow the last quote doesn't mess around does it. "If the stadium hadn't been sold we wouldn't be here, if Mr Sandhu had done everything he promised we wouldn't he here - it ended up in a mess"
-
I'm sure us Bees fans would want all our riders signed up asap. I think I will make a few trips up Manchester during the season.
