  1. Well the bank actually sold it but there are rumours it was actually sold to someone else before it was sold to Brandon Estates His Bees Kevlars cost him but I guess he would now receive the lowest amount from raised funds
  2. I'd think you'd get more revenue through sponsorship on a big tv screen that everyone can see instead of a small advert in a programme not everyone buys.
  3. Comparing NL side Cradley running at other tracks and Premiership Coventry running at other tracks is ridiculous for a variety of reasons. One being Coventry only had an 8 meeting deal!
  4. Still think Bjerre and Sedgeman is a better choice. In Bjerre you basically getting a 2nd heatleader as a 2nd string who is one of a very few riders who can potentially increase their average and Sedgeman who in a few sides would be number 4 in a team averages but will be a number 5 at Belle Vue. Belle Vue have young reserves it makes sense to have a very strong 2nd string pairing instead of having 3 heatleaders with a starting average of over 9 and a weak 5 the rider.
  5. That's how Peterborough and Wolves are doing it so we shall see.
  6. Sedgeman will be 5th in BV averages, it's an excellent signing considering they could still fit Fricke and Bjerre!
  7. Now have the day off so I can attend. Nice of Peterborough to donate to the riders fund.
  8. The simple fact that is we are not running is because Brandon is unavailable for us to use. If you want to blame someone look at the people who won't let us use it instead of people involved in speedway.
  9. But riders have paid for Kevlars and machinery expecting to get a wage riding in the top league. This fund is only for 2 months to help them during that time, I believe the next stage would then be raising money for our future. Edit to add that the funds will be distributed based on the 'hardship' of riders. Sarj for example has no club at all and has spent 7k on equipment, as it stands he would receive the most. He's looking for a day job at present.
  10. A cash cow possibly but Wolves are donating some of the gate money to the fund as well as paying riders for doing the meeting.
  11. Fantastic. Speedway people working together for a change. Superb gesture from Wolves.
  12. Says championship aswell though Skidder. He rode in that last season (well PL last season) so qualifies for reduction.
  13. We've been told they have, doesn't mean a lease can't be agreed. Having a fully working stadium might be helpful to them when selling.
  14. Does Bewley get a reduction on his 4pt average?
  15. Should be able to make this just need to book the day off work. Looking forward to it.
  16. I get the impression Brandon Estates would be happy for the sports to run but don't want certain people involved. A 3 year deal was originally agreed only 4 months ago after all. They know that it will be many years before they even get a hope of houses there. Just need someone who can finance the repairs to track and floodlights (maybe fan funded). It's not the end yet.
  17. The 'wrong' comment was a reply to a tweet suggesting the deal was for a highlights show only.
  18. The play off semis are usually on the same night so that'll count as one surely?
  19. I agree it would be perfect but unfortunately i think they'd want to keep the area as a technology park. It's ran by both Rugby and Coventry Council I believe, it might be worth exploring the idea though.
  20. One thing BT Sport does better than Sky is advertise what's on their channels. You often get an advert for SGP during the breaks on football and Rugby so hopefully the same for domestic speedway. If coverage doesn't start till June there will be 2 live meetings a week till play off time, that might work out well considering the major sports will be off season.
  21. Agree. It's the only thing I would miss that's still on Sky Sports. From what I see apart from football BT Sport coverage is so much better. Rugby Union in particular is very good and I was impressed with the GP coverage.
  22. Don't think it's that much different? April to August league season so that's 3-4 meetings a month then September for playoffs.
  23. To be fair to Coventry Council I can't think of any land that's suitable within their jurisdiction. It's the same for Coventry City FC. We will have to rely on Councils from over the city boundaries like Rugby, Warwick, Nuneaton etc
