  1. Not really, riders get injured. It's not like they are riding elsewhere, you would have a point then
  2. I did say the play off even though it's actually called the race off 😉. I didn't mention the final as my point was a perfectly prepared track doesn't necessarily mean good racing. The final was the best meeting I've been to in a long time.
  3. Let's be honest Poole is often a poorly prepared track but that doesn't stop having exciting meetings. It's regularly bumpy but that in itself can make superb racing. Look at the World Cup play off at Belle Vue, the track was prepared very well considering it rained yet the meeting was a gate and go bore fest.
  4. Got to be honest I had a quick look at the fixtures last night.
  5. It will get to a point where most of the riders have team spots but it's about keeping the Coventry Bees name going. They've always said that we will bring in guests that have history at Coventry. The likes of Bomber, Schelin and Howarth are already booked in for meetings.
  6. Me too. If we ever get back it will be as Coventry Bees, I'm quite sure of that.
  7. I'll ignore Bjerre 🖒. I agree Bates is on a bargain average considering the riders with similar ones. He has also taken his fitness seriously during the winter, maybe it's all clicked in his head that he can have a decent career in the sport. Getting to the u21 final must have given him a huge boost.
  8. Luckily it wouldn't cost much anyway, Horton knows that.
  9. IF there was a need to change the name it would have to be something that the wider community can get behind. Warwickshire Bees? Coventry Jaguars? Personally think it would be a mistake to change the name unless there was no other choice.
  10. Brandon Estates not wanting Sandhu operating at Brandon came before that. Why do you think Sandhu didn't get an extension on the lease he had? I always found that strange and even more so when it was announced he was willing to still pay all the bills. Bees cannot run at the stadium without Stox too. Unless of course there is someone with tonnes of cash.
  11. Cheers. Looking at the place it wouldn't take long to get it fit for racing.
  12. I dont know but i guess there could be confidentiality agreements in place which is why we've heard nothing off any of them apart from Hortons statement regarding Bees being pulled out.
  13. I got into the stadium just after 11 and there was one window open with 2 ladies working, there was also another window with someone inside but wasn't open. Also there were selling programmes at the turnstile, I think it would help if there was a seperate place to purchase programmes. Still I don't want to knock it too much as I had an excellent day.
  14. I bet Garrity would've if it wasn't for that blown engine! I think the campaign wanted their own race jackets for these challenge meetings so it didn't really matter what Kevlars the riders chose to wear.
  15. There was never going to be a deal with Stox that Sandhu runs. For whatever reason Brandon Estates won't let Sandhu near the place, probably the reason he didn't extend the lease he had. Still wondering where that 10 year lease went. Let's hope Brandon Estates either sell or are willing to talk with different parties for 2018.
  16. It's Brandon Estates that need to answer that question. Why won't they let Sandhu operate at Brandon? Stox not running either remember.
  17. If you stood on the back straight you may understand where the shale went.
  18. Agree. If they give Aussie riders an higher assessed average clubs will think twice about taking a risk on them and instead take a risk on a young Brit.
  19. Havvy has that job tomorrow. I'm disappointed I missed out!
  20. Carl Johnson Peterborough team manager says they have a surprise for us Bees fans tomorrow. Wonder what it could be?
  21. Sky Bet Kings Lynn 9/4 Poole 5/2 Belle Vue 4/1 Wolves 9/2 Rye House 8/1 Swindon 12/1 Leicester 40/1 Somerset 50/1
  22. And I believe Peterborough even rode a fixture in the time we also borrowed it so your version of events seem correct to me.
