  1. Because maybe they'd like Bees to survive like the rest of us. Not everything is done with an ulterior motive. @KeepBeesOnTrack has clarified that it has nothing to do with the previous promotion.
  2. Wrong guy. Sandhu sacked him and got a Polish taxi driver to do the track after he claimed he was the track guy at Bydgoszcz when in fact he was just a helper. They soon bought Terry back.
  3. Horton has nothing to do with this. www.savecoventryspeedway.com lists who is involved in this project including David Rowe, Jeff Davies and people at the NSSC.
  4. I'm hoping there can be meetings arranged when I'm not at work. The next 3 are when I'm either at work or have something else thats been planned long ago, so frustrating!
  5. I don't know what people are expecting, of course as the season goes on it will be more of a Coventry select side. The people involved made no secret of that. It's all about keeping the Bees race jacket going with riders who have mainly wore the Bees race jacket in the past. Up The Bees.
  6. Superb from the Wolves promotion. It's 50/50 whether I can make it but plenty of Bees fans will be travelling.
  7. Not doubt about it without the owners Wasps have they wouldn't exist now. Although it was a brave move they didn't really have a choice, it was either move or become extinct. The losses are not unexpected this early in the move and not helped due to improvements the the Ricoh, getting a temporary training base in Coventry and a few other things to do with the move. Revenues up 44% and revenues will continue to grow with the site being used more and more. Bspa have finally started doing something about marketing, they've a long way to go but at least they've finally started. They should ramp it up and work with BT Sport when there is finally some live action on tv.
  8. Coventry City average around 9,000 and It's between £18-£22 for adults. Some fans are boycotting home games though! Wasps marketing campaign was and continues to be excellent. Another crowd of over 20,000 will be at the Ricoh Sunday. To add to that Wasps have also started up a Netball team which attracts 2,000 per match in the exhibition hall, they've promoted that well on social media. Rumours of a Super League side too! Wasps are helped by having an exhibition hall which they use on match days to create a fans zone. Things for kids to do, live music and food and drink pre match adds to the match day experience. West Midlands didn't have a Premiership union side. Wasps don't attract just from Coventry, plenty from the Birmingham area.
  9. The rule was in last year in the UK and he rode over here last year. He should know the rule.
  10. King and Bates have confirmed they will ride for the Bees in the challenge matches unless there is a clash.
  11. Lewis Kerr would be Pooles best bet I think.
  12. Sounds to me like they are investigating more than who owns the fixture and fittings.
  13. I hope so but it doesn't seem to be a simple investigation. You'd think if they was Sandhus to take then it would quickly be resolved.
  14. Not really, riders get injured. It's not like they are riding elsewhere, you would have a point then
  15. I did say the play off even though it's actually called the race off 😉. I didn't mention the final as my point was a perfectly prepared track doesn't necessarily mean good racing. The final was the best meeting I've been to in a long time.
  16. Let's be honest Poole is often a poorly prepared track but that doesn't stop having exciting meetings. It's regularly bumpy but that in itself can make superb racing. Look at the World Cup play off at Belle Vue, the track was prepared very well considering it rained yet the meeting was a gate and go bore fest.
  17. Got to be honest I had a quick look at the fixtures last night.
  18. It will get to a point where most of the riders have team spots but it's about keeping the Coventry Bees name going. They've always said that we will bring in guests that have history at Coventry. The likes of Bomber, Schelin and Howarth are already booked in for meetings.
  19. Me too. If we ever get back it will be as Coventry Bees, I'm quite sure of that.
  20. I'll ignore Bjerre 🖒. I agree Bates is on a bargain average considering the riders with similar ones. He has also taken his fitness seriously during the winter, maybe it's all clicked in his head that he can have a decent career in the sport. Getting to the u21 final must have given him a huge boost.
