Just read the press release from Coventry Dogs. It seems developers are involved in the sale but it suggests Coventry dogs decided to pull out because they are not guaranteed a future lease which will hinder advertising and are suffering losses anyway. Nothing to suggest yet speedway wont continue short term at Brandon.
Ive heard nothing either, if it has been sold I doubt its to Sisu as local press have been quiet about it for a while.
As the site has to be a motorsort venue and has a lease for several more years speedway 'should be' safe.
As ive said before you have to wonder what the price would be had changes not been made. I think theyve realised a price increase would have gone to far and tried to keep it affordable for fans to attend as much as they can. Its cheaper for me this season at Coventry so im not grumbling.
For me and my family it is now £3 cheaper to watch home meetings at Brandon this season. Admission could have actually gone up if changes wasnt made, I wonder what this forum wouldve said about that!
Being told to by his sponsors aswell I bet. Its a shame ambition ranks below money to some riders. World Champion or European Champion erm let me think!!
I think Leicester will finish around 7th. Just think the worst EL side on paper (birmingham) would in theroy have 4 riders who would be PL number 1s, EL is far superior to any PL side.
Poland and Denmark would be far above the rest, Australia's strength in depth isnt that great. GB would be better than Sweden, Usa Czech Rep and Latvia for sure with 8 man sides.
This is why I rate us highly, we should be getting 12+ from the reserves programmed rides meaning the top 5 only need 33+ between them. Although the top 5 isnt as strong as a few others they are very capable of that.
Its only us die hards who are interested in the race format. The better half who attends with me sometimes doesn't even know this situation is going on and I'd doubt she would even notice a change in race format.
Not even close, say 5,000 fans attended at 15 quid its 'only' 75k plus take away running costs. A speedway riders will always need a regular job after retirement and id guess most wont have a profession or trade.
Plus a speedway career is short so those figures are not exactly massive when you consider that. Buying a house is hardly wasted money like renting, he has a right to look after his and families future. As i said earlier if you want to put into his fund you can and if not dont, its quite simple!
