  1. A Leicester u21 game was played recently I think it was reported the costs of opening the arena was only £1,000 and a fee to hire.
  2. It was regarding team building and training, Sweden doing one but he said GB had no plans yet again.
  3. 32,500 actually but it would be a great opportunity to entice new fans to the sport. We get around 2,000 at Brandon so with better facilities and it actually being in Coventry it would surely attract more fans. A good few ccfc fans would also attend id imagine. Id present the idea to the council and include the chance of SGP, SEC and SWC, the council would like the idea of visitors coming to Coventry, its all they bang on about recently.
  4. Still needs to be found but there are various sites around the city that could hold a speedway stadium. Being a city does gives us that advantage of more available sites.
  5. The top rider from each of the ten clubs will be in the line up. Lindgren and Harris also confirmed as wildcards.
  6. The new ACL chairman is open to discussions with the Bees about using the Ricoh Arena. He said "I guess there is a practical issue with it but nothing is ruled out, we would need to talk in detail about the possibilities of that happening".
  7. I think everyones efforts should be put into trying to find a new site. We have had this hanging over our heads season after season and one day we are just going to be left without a track and club. It will be sad to leave Brandon but the club will be so much more stronger and secure at a new site.
  8. I think I'm right in saying Horton does not yet own Peterborough.
  9. No one is suggesting building a stadium to the scale of BV, it would be better to build a track with the basic facilities and then hopefully improve on that in future. Tough times for us bees fans but as it stands at this moment I have faith and Sandhu and Horton to deliver. Personally I'd get in touch with the council asap and try and see if they can help out.
  10. Its a good sponsor to have when your looking to build a new stadium. It wouldnt seem right if we wasnt called the 'Buildbase Bees' would it?
  11. If they want it to FL standard then a speedway track wont be around a pitch, I believe FL rules say it isnt allowed.
  12. At the minute I'm confident we will have a future, ask me in a year or two and that might change.
  13. Its that cars will enter and exit the site on a much more regular basis is the problem, kind of different for one night a week in a condensed amount of time.
  14. Spot on with this post, this could easily be good for the Bees as it could be bad. Pretty much every season we have rumours over the future of the stadium, it would be nice to have something more secure. Plenty of sites in and around Coventry that have land for some kind of development, Ryton and near the airport spring to mind aswell as the area near the Ricoh.
  15. Plenty of land around Coventry its just the usual issues that a new speedway stadium has which could hinder it. If I was Sandhu id ask the council for help, land around the Ricoh is available. The council were interested in building a test standard cricket stadium around the area a few years back.
  16. A bit more positive, three years instead of two and on the face of it it seems Sandhu wants to build a new stadium.
  17. Its looking like that at the minute! I was told last season that Sandhu had no choice but to sell the stadium. Yep spot on, HMRC were involved after a convicted man (money laundering I think) seemed to own part of Brandon. Sandhu denied the claim.
  18. The club have confirmed it is not them who have bought the site. They have said in the passed a lot of hurdles would need to be jumped to get any sort of planning permission. It wont be a supermarket either as there is a Morrisons and also a new shopping complex next to it with a Marks and Spencers and Asda Living on the site.
  19. Luckily for us its a different site with different issues for planners. We don't yet know what they plan to do, it might not be as bad as we think.
  20. If it is housing developers they are taking a bit of a risk with the history of planning failures on the site and nearby.
  21. We dont even know who the owners are yet, they might want to redevelop the stadium for all we know. Planning will take a long time for houses if thats what they want to do as Sandhu knows himself as its one of the reason for him to sell.
  22. Greyhounds wasnt booted out, they needed a longer lease for advertising purposes.
  23. It will be safe until the lease is over. Its then either a new lease or relocation. The Ricoh Arena is available..............
