The group has fairly wealthy backers it seems, Problem is finding a site suitable. The group did put a pre planning application in for a site but I guess there was a problem as we've heard nothing about it.
The council can insist on them providing funds and/or build a stadium in any successful planning application. They are hoping that doesn' happen although if it does I suspect it'll only be a small dent in the profit they will make.
I doubt Leicester would agree to any share unless it was NL. Plus if this gets rid of everyone involved in this shambles and the Save Cov Speedway group can move forward without other influences then it's a win win.
I think they are referring to petitions etc. The Save Coventry Speedway group often ask for support from elsehwere and will in future. Shame we seem to be alienating some sections of speedway with the fans stance
I said this on the other Coventry thread. Many fans are against the move but if fans and the group picked one or two meetings and come together to show we want a move back it can help the campaign. Turn this into a positive.
To be honest the group should try and turn this into a positive if it indeed does happen. Plan for one or two of the 'home' meetings where fans go and make themselves heard ( get media invovled) while at the same time showing some support for the riders wearing the Bee. Its the ideal chance to get fans together and do something! Doing this shows its not supporting the move but actually gives the group and campaign media attention and telling people involved in the process we want to return to Coventry.
Today is the day we are likely to find out whether Bees will run at Leicester in 2018. Mick is away in Australia apparently so I guess Neil Watson will be in attendance?
There are certain Poole fans that see Gavan name and they go straight on the defensive instead of actually reading what he's posted. He's more positive about the Poole signings than some others!
But some believe that if we do then it will show that that there isn't a local need as we are happy to travel to Leicester. I think if you wanted to go you can still show your anger about it all with banners etc to clearly show those that need to know that we want a return back in the Coventry area and still support the team.
It's a decision each fan will have to make on there own and whichever way each fan decides they shouldn't receive criticism for it. We had a similar situation with CCFC going to Northampton and things for ugly at times between fans on social media and forums. It sucks being a Coventry sports fan.
No professional sport is a £10 sport and even sports at semi pro level is a bit more than that. I think that £15 would be fair price but promoters do need to look at improving pre meeting and in between heats entertainment.
This bit is spot on. BE (if they are funding it) know full well fans won't go and will use it as evidence that their isn't a local need for the stadium anymore.
Although Woryna has improved in Poland I wouldn't be too confident with him away from Poole. Even in 2016 when he was at Coventry he was beating decent riders in Poland but didn't convert that here. Some of the away tracks he really struggled to even get round them.
