  1. I would support Coventry having a NL side, we could easily run on gp weekends. Obviously admission would have to be cheaper but im sure there would be a half decent crowd on a friday night.
  2. So the locals dont have a right to support a well known rider in NZ who does a lot for NZ speedway just because some speedway snobs think he is rubbish, get over yourself. All gps should have a local rider at least as wildcard if it's possible, yes they might get 00000 but that's not really the issue. If speedway is serious about expanding than this sort of thing needs to happen.
  3. Does anyone seriously think it was going to be a top Euorpean performer? To send out there equipment to NZ for one meeting which in the grand scheme of things wont mean too much to them. The logistics of it meant that i thought it would be an Aussie or someone who rides in NZ regulary ie Bunyan (6 times NZ champ) or Ricky Wells who was born there i think. Bunyan is well known for speedway in NZ so not the worst pick for tickets sales to the locals!
  4. Reading things like this gets me angry with the whole set up of speedway in this country. Surely the BSPA should be helping young talented rider's like Nathan getting sponsership deals especially as he is u-16 champ. Also im disappointed in the bigger clubs in the country ie Coventry and Poole not running an NL set up, surely they could easily afford it and then youngsters would have the benefits of sponsership these 2 clubs provide. I would certainly go and watch NL speedway at Coventry.
  5. It wont ever be at Wembley for the simple reason they wouldnt want to take the risk with the weather while laying the track. They have Cardiff with the roof so they can prepare the track without any threat. I go to England games regulary and Wembley is in a poor location compared to Cardiff (city centre). The difference is that we now have a facility in Cardiff where the weather is not an issue.
  6. 16 heats is the cut off point and they got to that, shame.
  7. So i wasnt the only one who thought Gollob 'dived'. Shame the rain came would have been a good final few heats.
  8. This is great news for the GP's, is this just for 2012 or is it for an x amount of years??
  9. Someone on twitter says riders fighting with fans??
  10. IF there was to be a brit for next year it will have to be Lee Richardson or Tai Woffinden. Im a big fan of Harris but i think a bit of time out of the GP'S will do him good and he can try to qualify for 2013.
  11. This is wide open but remember Pawlicki beat Ward 3 times at Poole in the play off final so he likes Wimbourne Road.
  12. Two things i would change, have the race off and final at different tracks this will stop team wanting to be in the race off for an advantage. The second one would be to have the final on a rotation basis between maybe Poland, GB, Denmark and Sweden.
  13. If we had Nicholls and Richardson we would have had a great chance. Bridger is no where near good enough, Barker showed he can mix it with the best, Woffinden was hit and miss, Kennett didnt do as well as i thought he would and Harris was brilliant as usual.
  14. This is Barker and Bridger's big chance i'm hoping they don't blow it but not expecting too much.
  15. Bridger is the replacement according to his twitter.
  16. Should be a good meeting on Thursday, although i dont think we will get to the final i feel it will be closer than most people predict.
  17. I would like to thank the family from Dorset who sent us our tickets to our address after the were mistakenly sent to them, very honest of you. My mum has already left a message to say thanks but if anyone knows who they were can you pass this message on.
  18. I agree with you but one day smaller speedway nations might have riders that are competitve with the best. I think it would be good for speedway if a country that has a couple of decent riders could ride in a world event it might promote the sport a bit more in other countries!
  19. My daughter's been to Speedway meetings before but she was totally engrossed tonight. That to me means it was a great advert for Speedway and we were both jumpimg up and down like we won the thing! I hope sky sports news give the team proper exposure before the final because they deserve it and hopefully a few more people will watch our great sport on tv! I think my mates are convinced!
  20. Not sure how that would work to be honest but i was thinking about the World pairs they used to run, i think that would be far more competitive. 5-6 countries could probably win that on any given day. I think there was 7 countries in the world pairs final, is that right?
  21. Poland always have well attended GP's and so do we. Why cant we have an extra one or is the Cardiff GP on it's own such a money maker? For Poland to have 3 does take the mickey!
  22. There is a lot of talk about Chris Harris not being GP standard, i would say he would be if there wasnt so many slick tracks in the gp's. Granted you should have to ride on different type of of tracks but near enough every track was slick this year. Give Harris a track to work with and he will do we well, i hope Tony Olsson is listening to what the speedway world are saying. By the way im not saying Harris would have made the top 8 but he would have challenged if some tracks had dirt on it.
