I never understood why people thought Laguta would get a pick, why would they pick him if he still has issues obtaining visas. On talent he should be in but the fact he didnt do the qualifiers may suggest he knows these issues will arise.

I gather BT Sport is still light on live summer sports? Id guess speedway could help fill their schedules if Sky dont renew.
-
So what are Sky looking for from the BSPA to agree a new deal for next season? One big league with more variety or a similar EL with more fixtures but less guests and R/R? Or have they given up with speedway full stop?

He has a point that they may ride in Britain to help pay for GP costs but BSI do not determine the pay structure the FIM do.

Stockholm Gp September 21st
Woz01 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The crowd will be boosted by Brits hoping to see a British World Champion. A fair few on my Twitter feed are going over. -
Far more technology in cycling and sailing and obviously Show Jumping relies heavily on the quality of the horse. Looking at it that way i dont see why speedway cant be an Olympic sport but motorsport is generally a no no.

24th August 2013 Gp Challenge @ Poole
Woz01 replied to Irk Deflector's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
In a way if Bomber manages to get into the top 3 he sort of deserves it doesnt he? Why are people having a pop at Harris its not his fault he has been asked to ride and he would be mad to turn it down The first sentence was a joke. -
A simple squad system would help reduce guests. 10 riders in a squad pick 7 riders who are available for the fixture and use a riders starting average to make up to the limit. Sometimes a team may be weaker but at least its riders contracted to that particular club. Riders can still ride PL if they choose to. May need R/R occasionally but guests would be rare!

Crowds have been decent this season considering the season we have had. I would say crowds are usually around the 2,000 mark but the Poole match was 3,000+. As mentioned above Horton has done a lot to promote the club and the advert before movies at the cinema is a brilliant idea. We just have to get a decent team together for 2014!

New Generation Who Will Push On.?

I read that Lambert was beating the likes of Smolinski, Schlein and others in Germany LAST year at 14. Hopefully i can get to Brandon to watch him ride tomorrow night. -
Its the experience on big tracks thats the main problem. Hopefully the national stadium in Manchester will help solve the problem. If it was on a track 300m or less and Britain would perform better id say.

If they really wanted to use the joker in heat 14 they should have used Harris and Tai could have had a tac sub ride in the last 4 heats if needed. Seems bizarre taking out your 2nd best rider who got 5 points from his previous 2 rides.

World Cup Race Off - 18th July 2013

Although i think he isnt the rider he was a couple of years back thats a bit harsh. Scored the same as Batch and the ride Middlo replaced him with was a shocking decision! -

Lets just think, a team of Tai, Harris, Nicholls and King would probably have made the final so who do we blame for that side not to be named? The bspa and middlo the buck stops with them. -

Middlo has made massive mistakes tonight? Why take Bomber out of his ride when he scored 5 from his last 2? If you wanted to use the joker then use him. That would have gave Tai an xtra ride later on. Bizzare pulling out your 2nd best rider. -

With the Aussies bringing Woodward in i see them as slight favourites but it could go either way especially with the joker rule. -

His GP scores in Prague have been poor but the field is nowhere near as strong. Still think he will score well, needs to get out of the gate though!! -

World Cup Fantasy League
Woz01 replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I got Iversen and either Ward-Batchelor or Woffinden-Harris in the final. The four i mentioned in the race off should get big points and my latvian rider will do ok too. I should get loads of points in the race off and 3 riders in the final! Looking good! -

Who Should Be In Gb World Cup Team?
Woz01 replied to bri1966's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thats kind of my point. I believe he rides in the 2nd division? They may be quick for that division but for the race off? I hope so. I think he would score than what Cook did on Monday anyway. -

Woz01 replied to bri1966's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
King would have scored more than one point. If the SWC was at Eastbourne then yeah id pick Kennett but we are talking about international speedway. You will rarely find a SWC meeting on a 'small' track which is why i say King is much more accomplished than Kennett. For me King should be in the side and Kennett would be 8th choice at the moment -

I think most people would have understand the change if King replaced Cook. Bridger is on form but suspect on big tracks but i hope im proved wrong. He seems to do decent in Poland all be it in a lower division.
