  1. I actually think we can win the race off. Sweden look average, USA are a worse side than last year and let's be honest we are capable of beating Latvia or Czech Republic. Granted we would get stuffed in the final.
  2. Should have picked an even weaker side then. I think they will still breeze through to the final, Sweden look average.
  3. All 4 Brits should score 8+ at the Kings Lynn round. They should have the beating of all the Italians (Covatti might have a couple decent rides) and all of the Americans apart from Greg. Will Holder ride for Australia? If not we will have half a chance.
  4. But never disappoints in the SWC. We have half a chance to make a final here we should pick our best side available, that easily includes Bomber. His recent league form has been better than any other Brit apart from Tai. That includes the continent too scored 11 in Sweden and 9 in Poland in the last week. People shouldnt just look at GP form especially when picking a GB side.
  5. I can see 2 GPS in Britain working but only if the 2nd one was at a speedway stadium like the new BV or Coventry. I doubt there would be demand for 2 big crowds, remember we always get a SWC qualifier too.
  6. But back than guests were hardly needed these days its every match one way or another. People perceive it as amateurish, its not even one guest sometimes its 4 in one team. That is a big reason why some dont attend.
  7. I thought Rosco would pick Cook but this would be close to the 4 id pick and the 4 suit the bigger tracks better than the rest. The race off is certainly winnable.
  8. The guests and R/R situation needs to resolved, the public find it very strange that a rider from a rival club can guest for you. FTD is a good move but that will also need a bit of tinkering. Coventry have a long history of having a team which helps crowd levels, im sure most of the local population know of the Coventry Bees. Not much going on in Coventry? Coventry has lots of sports teams ( i will still include ccfc) and although i rarely go out into town anymore it seems a few bars and resturants have opened recently. Coventry also has a large migrant population, the City has the 2nd biggest population increase in Britain after London mainly from migrants.
  9. The track and racing was certainly better than last year and the crowd seemed larger too. I really enjoyed it this year especially as my view on the 2nd bend top tier was brilliant.
  10. Squads! Why this hasnt at least been tried I will never know. Seems such a simple idea to me. Coventry had a situation where we had Hans and MJJ missing and had to use 2 PL 6 pointers, if there was a squad then it wouldve been avoided. Just an example, Hans Andersen Andreas Jonsson Chris Harris Michael Jepsen Jensen Gregorz Zengota Kenneth Hansen Kyle Howarth Josh Auty FTD Jason Garrity James Sarjeant Olly Greenwood A squad system would have let us use Jonsson and Zengota in that situation, im sure the crowd at Kings Lynn wouldve prefered a line up with them instead of 2PL 6 pointers. Its the only way EL can continue to race on multiple race nights and having competitive sides. Also would significantly reduce guests and R/R. Use their season starting average and named 1-5 cant exceed a points limit. Simple.
  11. My daughter loves the sport, although as others said the time between heats annoys her. It is something that could be avoided most of the time. At Coventry there seems to be quite a lot of children that attend, maybe because its a Friday night club?
  12. Yep its 8,000 but even that seems low to me, health and safety and all that. It was 12,000 a few years back. The Ricoh Arena is always free at the moment!
  13. Im all for the SEC long as it works along side the SGP and not against each other. Would love to see a round in the UK in the future at Kings Lynn or Coventry.
  14. Lets be honest this is the biggest meeting Germany has had in a while, was always going to be a good crowd. Reading comments that Speedway in Britain doesnt get crowds like this yet Cardiff is this Saturday, a bit bizarre! Good meeting so far although I cant get my head around where the start/finish line is.
  15. Garrity has improved as the season has gone on and see no reason why that shouldnt carry on. Not saying he will be a world beater but I think he will certainly be a rider in the frame for a GB spot in a couple of years.
  16. Disappointed with Garrity and Lambert missing but I suppose they both have lots of time on their side. Team should be Tai, Harris, Cook and for the last place im not too fussed although it seems Barker has rode well recently. Id look at bringing Bridger in for tbe race off as he has Polish experience and has equipment already over there.
  17. Yeah just seen the side they have named, a shame to be honest.
  18. If Russia get through and pick a strong side then we will have no choice but to pick our best 4, imagine this thread if we didnt make the race off!
  19. Harris has had lots of wildcard picks as they wanted a Brit. Harris was by far and away the best Brit in those years so it wasnt his fault another Brit couldnt step up to the plate and take a wildcard spot.
  20. Zagar and Nicki P in heat 1 will be interesting!
  21. Cook scored 10+2 at Lynn the other week beating Bjerre, Schlein, Lambert and Porsing. Id have him in the side.
  22. He got 19 points in 11 rides. 12 at Kings Lynn and 7 in Prague thats not too shabby. If we had 2 other riders that scored what Harris did we couldve made the final.
  23. Harris won the run off against Berntzon so he is reserve for GP challenge.
