Belle Vue Aces -v Poole "cheats" Pirates
Woz01 replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
To be fair R/R and guests in the main has been due to injury. With out injury Coventry for example would've only needed one guest so far this season if I remember correctly. This with Janowski just takes the mickey. -
I'm sure attendances at Cardiff are regularly around the 40k mark. Last year the crowd seemed a little bigger than usual so 45k isn't that far off.
-
This just shows permanent tracks have issues aswell. No point naming tracks that could host a gp if they don't want to.

How can a doctor give a sick note before Janowski riding Sunday? Surely that's grounds to disregard it as Janowski has already broken said sick note? -

It's just cheating, Harris for Janowski strengthens Poole at Belle Vue. I hope it does get called off because I'd like to see what will happen in the restaging regarding Pooles side. -
Of course but I don't see the point in a temporary track if they already have stadia capable of holding GP'S. Poland have several stadiums capable and hold 3 gps as it is, does it really need a temporary track? I'm not so sure it will be so well attended next year. I'm an advocate of having it in big stadiums but only if that said country doesn't have stadium fit for a GP. All I will say is they won't get that next year. Poland have 3 gps already and stadiums capable of holding events without using temporary tracks.

I agree, it was absolute ridiculous for Poland holding a GP at Warsaw when they have several speedway stadiums capable of holding an event.

Warsaw Gp Saturday 18th April
Woz01 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Exactly. It was obvious to me anyway but last night pretty much confirms it. -
The track yesterday was far worse than Warsaw, so at least we now know why Warsaw was abandoned. With the track they way it is (shape and ruts) riders were just settling into whatever position they had after lap 1. For me the Warsaw track was not terrible but the attitude from riders over the starting gate was. The four heats leading to the abandonment were very good. All the riders like Prague as it's smooth, slick and well prepared but apart from a few heats it's mainly gate and go. I don't have any worries about Cardiff this year it was probably the best it's ever has been last year. We do need to have some more permanent tracks on the circuit though but I understand why they use temporary tracks in countries that haven't got the facilities.

The crowd looked awful in that first shot.
-
Brilliant! 👍

Pedersen said the track was "looking" good. This may have been before practice to be fair.
-
Well Holder is hoping for a better track tomorrow according to Twitter.

So where did this "off duty policeman" story come from? Must have been Darcy and his legal team. A lie.
-
So basically Darcy pretty much lied to his fans all the way through it. Being over the UK drink drive limit he must have had a heavy night. So where is this "off duty policeman"

Wolves V King's Lynn Monday 18th May
Woz01 replied to Wolfsbane's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
But he is at Wolves as you claimed yourself. Exactly. I'm not claiming he is a heatleader everywhere far from it but at Wolves he has showed it often. -
No reason not to pick King, he scored 11 in the SWC at Kings Lynn last year.

Around Wolves absolutely not. Can beat anyone round there and was beating Wolves heat leaders consistently last season. Shame for you it's not allowed. -

Speedway World Cup Team Gb Squad
Woz01 replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think 12 is spot on. It would be better though if it was over a longer period of time say March to November but that would need another 1 or maybe 2 more non European gps. -

It's the bspa fault no one else's. How long have they had to adapt? -
Speedway World Cup Team Gb Squad
Woz01 replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think Garrity is unlucky to miss out, been showing some great form recently but the squad is pretty much as you'd expect. The four I'd pick for Kings Lynn would be Woffinden, Harris, King and Lambert. -
As R/R would a heat leader it really is a crazy decision to bring Howarth in. Even with an injury during the meeting there would be enough cover. Strange one. I can understand it if it was for a rider 5th in the averages.
