Why are people paying 30 odd quid for bt? I'm only paying £23

Fans that do go know that Leicester is a temporary solution. When making your points to Rugby Council express why youre willing to go to Leicester for now but that it is not a long term sustainable solution for club and as a fan. You could also point to the fact only a one year deal is in place and raise the latest comments from Coventry Bees owner Mick Horton that this is a temporary arrangement and that Coventry Speedway needs somewhere more local to have a future. Brandon Estates put the paragraph about Coventry Bees and being at Leicester for two reasons 1, they are trying to hoodwink the planning officer that it's a viable long term solution to show Brandon or a new site isn't needed. 2, they do not want to provide funds for a new stadium should planning get approved with this conditions. That would delay their development and it will certainly hit their profit margins Also to add in the planning application they used the fact Coventry stox not running as part of their case. Whatever what was happening in terms of running or not, they'd use it to their advantage. They'e played people off each other constantly in this debacle including fans emotions. I for one am not letting them or anyone else stop me doing what ive enjoyed doing for 30+ years just because of greed. Edit: I've just emailed in my objection. Tough to write without getting a tad emotional. If you have memories of Brandon send them an email or letter. Every little helps.

This is one post we can all agree with!
-
I did think that when it was announced he was sacked.
-
Observer website seems to be down and not that the article has been pulled. Any idea on press and practice date, sponsorship and co promoter? Looking forward to seeing the fixture list and seeing what away meetings I can do.
-
This is what people forget about, stox. Brandon was a facility that could hold both, Leicester cannot. Leicester isnt a comparable stadium nor is it 'local'. With the SCS group stox or speedway won't be left behind.
-
Of course they will say that but if we wasnt running theyd use that against us too. What Horton said and what Brandon Estates has said in the planning application are complete opposites so how can I believe what both are saying. Your post makes zero sense.
-
You serious? The comments by Horton are the opposite what Brandon Estates said in their planning application. Brandon Estates made out Leicester was the long term option and Horton in this interview has said it isnt and we need to get back to the local area. He basically rubbished that whole section of the application! Don't see how that's helping BE?
-
He didn't sell it, the bank did.
-
He still owns the rights to Coventry stox, if he comes out and says similar it will add weight.
-
No, I can't see any holes here either. What Horton is saying here goes against what BE have said in their planning application. If he was being funded by them then they won't be happy with this. Basically saying this isnt a long term solution and we need somewhere local, two things BE don't want to hear. BE are worried about having to help finance somewhere new hence in their application they worded it like Leicester would be a long term solution. We now have the owner of the club stating it isn't a long term solution and we need to get back. Sandhu now needs to do the same regarding stox and put huge pressure on BE.

Mick Horton has done an interview with the Coventry Observer. Will be online tomorrow.

Many contradictions and inaccuracies!
-
Of course they are going to say that they will say anything to get what we want. If we didn't run they will say we have cease trading in 2018 (at least) which incidentally is exactly what they've said about Coventry Stox in the next paragraph on the application. It's plainly obvious that Leicester is a temporary measure for the club and I very much doubt anyone would think any other way. Also people need to remember Brandon isn't just a speedway stadium, stox has a huge influence in this fight.
-
No it doesn't show that. The Leicester situation is a temporary solution, a ONE year deal has been agreed. This is just Brandon Estates just spinning a situation to their favour which they would've done if we wasn't running too. Doesn't mention Stox at all in that section and Leicester can't run stox. Conveniently missed stox out there as it doesn't suit their argument. This also shows they are scared that the council could insist on a new facility. Edited to add that in the next paragraph it does say that CoventryStox are not running in 2018 but the point is they would run if a local venue was suitable.
-
Luke Ruddick, Jamie Halder and Ryan MacDonald complete the Bees side.
-
Anyone would know it's not a long term solution, after all the deal as it stands is for this season only. I really dont think planners will be swayed by that. As for the team, what do we think? Mid table?
-
And if we wasn't running anywhere they'd use that to their advantage too. They will spin any situation.
-
Exactly this. They've done this from the beginning.
-
I did read a post elsewhere that says there will be 2 semi finals with the top 3 progressing from each while Poland are seeded into the final. Will they manage to get enough nations involved if that's true?
-
That option has been talked about by fans but a council has to justify it that they can make it profitable (viable). The site is vast so a few business could open up there and make it better for the community (as an example).
-
Is Sundstrom that good anymore? Can't say I've seen him ride well that often when I've seen him on tv. I think I'd prefer Worrall myself.
-
I think it was Jeremy Heaver who said they were asking for £10m last year but if they find it difficult to get planning it should start reducing the value. We will soon find out how far and long Brandon Estates are willing to go to get housing on there.
-
They want significantly more than that.
-
Apparently so but BE are not willing to sell.
