The viability report for Brandon has finally been published. Says Coventry Speedway made a loss every year but Companies House accounts suggest otherwise. The owners are not interested in talking, this was actually suggested by the Rugby Council leader. The site would be big enough, the stadium take up quite a bit of land and it could easily get similar facilities using far less land. However that would rule out Stox featuring at Brandon as they would need the space that Brandon currently has.

I was going to say you can bet Bombers at Coventry was around the fence for 4 laps.

They give free tickets to the rugby clubs participating in the pre match stuff and occasionally for other things but the simple fact is they don't need to entice lots of people with freebies anymore. £230 for a season ticket again next season is super value.

This is about showing that the stadium can be restored back into a functioning stadium and a decent cost as BE claim it's not viable too do that. Of course if Sandhu ever gets the chance to fulfil his promise (if he means it) then a good chunk of that would come from him.

In the plans all the houses are on one side of the site the other side is walkways, grass, ponds etc. It's obvious what they will do.

If they get permission and build those 130 houses you can pretty much guarantee that they will try to get more housing on the site in future.

To be fair though I'd understand concerns after what happened last winter. However this seems to be something beyond Coventrys control, these things will happen when we are borrowing a stadium from another promotion.

I'm surprised we made a profit at all considering what was said during those times about Horton and what other clubs were reporting. One year we were 40,000 pounds in profit, I find it difficult to see how Horton or anyone else took anything substantial out with those profits. As i understand it the first two years under Horton we made losses mainly due to him buying the club and paying for the licence. Every year after that a profit was made, although without working it out I think overall since Horton took charge I think it was a loss. Having said that a few years of profits it shows that Coventry Bees was a viable club. I assume CoventryStox was viable so. BE won't like this coming out as they've gone heavy on the unviable route.

They've got an easy way out, theyll say it's not in Coventry Councils jurisdiction. However if this happens it's something we can push Coventry Council on.

Coventry population is growing at one of the fastest rates in the country although there is plenty of land earmarked for housing. It was said that the population growth is likely to be over estimated. Rugby has a local plan for housing they require and Brandon isn't on it. The Coventry Telegraph stance is baffling, they've done some great work regarding the situation at CCFC but local sports reporting has gone downhill recently unless it's CCFC or Wasps. Not even sure they've highlighted how to object to the plans.

Went to the races at Worcester last year. Think there was 7 races and could only see the final straight. Must've watched 2 minutes of actual racing while the rest on the big screens. Did I enjoy it? To right I did! Sporting events should be about more than the actual sporting action, the social side is important.

I like to see them show how its a suitable long term option. A one year deal isn't suitable, owner Mick Horton says it can only be a temporary measure and of course Leicester isn't a replacement for Brandon. It can't run stox for starters. If both Bees and CoventryStox wasn't running it would be a lot tougher to show the need.
