  1. I do think Sarjeant and Bates will improve as the season goes on. Might be too late by then though.
  2. Have they somehow converted his NL average?
  3. But it says his average will be higher than Newman. Must be a mistake. Its says on the Poole website he will have a higher average than Newman at 4.89 but it cant be right. It does make a big point about it on the statement so who knows.
  4. It says on the website his average will start higher than Newman though. Must be a mistake.
  5. Not sure id want Ellis on a 4.89 average!
  6. Wow Ellis on 4.89, how did they get to that?
  7. Howarth is the only one to have an established EL average from last season. All the others would need some conversion so they decided to do it from PL averages. Whether thats right from wrong is another debate. If you have an EL average from last season it must surely be used.
  8. Neil Watson pretty much said on the Bees thread. Riders in the draft will be a reserve for at least 4 matches. IF for example Bees had Garrity in the draft his average would be just over 5 and in a reserve position. IF then Bees signed Robson his average is say 4.8(?) he would be a 2nd string as he isn't part of the draft. Reserves can then move into top 5 after 4 meetings if averages allow. Edit. Must remind myself to read the rest of the thread before commenting 😃
  9. Howarth will still be a reserve even if Wolves signed a rider on an average less than Howarth, well until 4 meetings anyway.
  10. He is 21 but 22 when the season starts. He will be younger than Worrall, Auty, Starke, Blackbird, Mear, Wright, Kerr, Rose, Sarjeant and thats just of the top of my head. Edit to add Newman too.
  11. Is the 4 meetings just for the riders who have had their PL average converted? As it seems Howarth will use his EL average will rolling averages apply to him?
  12. Howarth rode for the under 21s last year! He is still young plenty of draft riders much older than him.
  13. Good that he will start on his EL average and also good that he's in the draft. The draft should be helping riders just like him. People forget he is still young.
  14. So will we get a statement today or are they going to keep the whole thing quiet?
  15. But if he is it gives his side less points to play with. Its not like he doesn't have an average and will stick at reserve all year.
  16. I don't mind Howarth being a reserve but his EL average should be used for team building.
  17. Think we should see the other reserve pairings before judging.
  18. Depends who the another is, that would probably look better than other teams.
  19. Are some of the riders expected in the draft not going to be on it? I find it a little strange that Lakeside picked Blackbird and Mear for example?
  20. To be honest I'm not sure about that. Kyle was poor for us (should be good at reserve though) and id take Sarj and Bates over Clegg. This is it, id understand the selections if there was riders available to get to the limit but I have serious doubts. There is improvement in the two reserves no doubt but you really do want a 'heavy hitter'
  21. It would makes sense if they have a team pretty much nailed on that would get us close to the limit but I don't see how unless we sign someone like Doyle.
  22. I have to say I was very shocked. I have it as 6.34 used by the reserves. They have a lot to play with for the top 5 but have they got a plan to get close to the limit?
