Poland 2016 Season Extraleague News
Woz01 replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
We thought British Speedway was a farce.... -
Now that the top 5 can drop into reserve I dont see how it would save money.
-
Yep its certainly not needed in 2016.

How Do We Attract A New Young Audience?
Woz01 replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It would work if Bees were regular visitors to Wasps games and Wasps were banned from Brandon! I think links with other clubs can work especially on presentation and getting the sport/club noticed. That is one thing that annoys me most. It cannot be difficult to put some advertising out and about the city, In Coventry you'd hardly know we had a speedway team. They do attend the odd local event and the advert at showcase cinema was good to see. I even offered on the FB page a year or 2 back to put a poster at my work where over 400 people work. Didnt get a response. -
But it wouldn't matter as they'd have started in the reserve position and get a new average after 4 meetings anyway. They'd be comparable to the other draft riders who would also had inflated averages

How Do We Attract A New Young Audience?

Coventry Bees seem to announce link ups often but not sure about the benefits. They announced a link up with Wasps a while back so hopeful of something happening there as Wasps make the matchday entertaining before and after matches with decent size crowds. Hopefully Bees can participate in Wasps family fun zones they do before matchdays. -
But they could have simply increased the points limit to compensate and use what ever average they did achieve in 2015.

Can we change the rules so we can have an extra double up rider? We could sign Simon Stead then 😉. Just shows how ridiculous changing team building rules would be.
-
Of course id prefer my side to he competitive but it'll only be my clubs fault if they wasn't. Cant just add a fundamental rule in team building just because some have messed it up.
-
Kurtz may struggle early on especially with new away tracks but I'm sure he will soon get to grips with the EL.
-
Leicester will be miles worse. Cant see them having a genuine heatleader!
-
If a rule change is implemented just weeks before a season then that would be me pretty much done with the sport even if my side gain an advantage from it.
-
Only the tier 2 riders stay in the reserve position from what we have read/heard from various promoters.
-
Now though we will get foreign riders in a reserve position with protected heats after the 1st set of averages.
-
We are going to have similar chats about the same issues next winter as it seems the format is staying the same. Even the BSPA notices the imbalance hence the heatleader list. I just dont understand why we cannot now go back to the old format now one reserve can move up and vice versa.
-
Of course you can have a fixture on a Monday to suit Sky, they have a contract! As I said previously we have been getting more meetings on a Wednesday and id expect that to continue now they need fillers due to losing the CL.
-
You could possibly still have a meeting on a Monday on Sky but still have a regular race night for the league. Sky seem to be happy to have Poole home meetings on a Wednesday, cant see why that cant happen for all? Sky will no doubt be looking to fill midweek with other sports now they haven't got the Champions League coverage.
-
Rosco definitely said Friday was one of the days a few weeks back.
-
Describes Leicester fans quite well!! Sorry couldn't resist 👍
-
Friday will be one as 3 EL sides already ride Fridays plus Leicester are rumoured to want to. Coventry dont usually ride GP weekends, think people just use the GPs as an excuse to be honest. Plus some clubs could ride home meetings on either of the two nights.
-
The way Poland is going i wouldn't be surprised if top riders do filter back in a few years. Polish Speedway seems to be in a right mess at the minute.
-
They just wont accept Bombers offer if asked. I doubt there would be many clashes anyway.

I believe him and Jeremy Heaver have a license to run Stock Cars. They think they will get a crowd of 10k+ at the end of the 2016 season. Its makes them money im sure so I do believe they have the intention of a new stadium, its one thing having intentions and quite another delivering it. One thing about business people they always want to make more money. A new stadium could still prove lucrative for someone like Sandhu.
-
Seems a very tight timeframe.
-
Jeremy Heaver on the Save Coventry Speedway page says they are not quite ready to announce new site but still intend to start 2017 at the new stadium.
