  1. Meeting with around 300 fans including the Mayor of Neubrandenburg yesterday. Location around 10 km outside town Interesting that it seems to be a bowl type track. Sounds a bit Bradford from memory like and that should help with the noise. But sounds a slow project. But by bit. And if it gets going in 2021 it will be more a training track and for junior meetings, with the hope to develop over time and host bigger meetings. From little acorns, as they say https://m.speedweek.com/speedway-racing/news/151858/Neubrandenburg-Neue-Speedwaybahn-ist-in-Planung.html?fbclid=IwAR2fTHK3IyvW-wvA-CqrPG5sfXIXkAmnuytSzgI3KkGp7p19ECST36GrdNI Oh and track to be 325m
  2. The talk is about next season !!! Even if the UK leave without a deal on January 31st, freedom of movement doesn't stop. Not for next season anyway. And if there is a deal, do we know when freedom of movement will stop? After Brexit, EU citizens who move to the UK will be able to apply for a 36 month temporary immigration status - European Temporary Leave to Remain (Euro TLR). Applications to the new Euro TLR scheme will be simple and free and will be made after arrival in the UK. There will be no need for EU citizens travelling to the UK after Brexit to make any special arrangements in advance. EU citizens entering the UK after Brexit Free movement as it currently stands under EU law will end on 31 January 2020. However, Parliament has provided that much of the free movement framework will remain in place under the EU (Withdrawal) Act 2018 until Parliament passes primary legislation to repeal it. Ahead of that, the government will introduce some specific changes, reflecting that we are no longer part of the EU, to increase security and better protect the UK public. We will: keep out and deport more EU citizens who commit crimes by applying tougher UK criminality thresholds at the border and also when crimes are committed in the UK remove the blue EU customs channel, requiring all travellers to make a customs declaration by choosing either the green or red channel remove the rights for post-exit arrivals to acquire permanent residence under retained EU law, and the rights for UK nationals who move to the EU after exit to return with their family members without meeting UK family immigration rules introduce blue UK passports starting from the end of the year as a symbol of our new, sovereign identity .
  3. The trouble is though you can’t compare Europe with Oceania(sounds like some Disney film), as a qualifier from Europe involves loads of different countries. This is basically limited to Australians and then opening it up for anyone else !!! Is it going to be another route for Europeans or will only Australians get a GP spot? And don’t tell me the same will apply for the Americans? Well at least there are a couple of Argentinians who could enter !!!
  4. Not sure I see the point of this. And the line up doesn’t seem that strong either !!!
  5. Mauer getting a bit carried away with all those riders. He wouldn’t use them all even if he was in the league for 10 years
  6. Now announced S.Mauer L.Fienhage D.Möser R.Gafurov T.Busch B.Ernst L.Baumann M.Koscielski And then a whole host of riders on reserve including Celina Liebmann, Danny Maassen, Smetala,Holub ,Hummel and Mirko Wolter etc, etc even old face Sekula
  7. Seems on Thursday it will be announced that an area has been found and agreed to build a stadium that they hope will hold its first meeting in 2021. The big stumbling block, as ever is money!!! https://www.nordkurier.de/neubrandenburg/gibt-es-in-neubrandenburg-bald-wieder-speedway-rennen-1137390511.html?fbclid=IwAR13ntCDHRsJQVcwfZgVK6VKb2qP7Gio2942VJ7KlentSLSvXGtyqS3X2eQ
  8. It is also expected that Lukas Baumann and Ben Ernst will also sign. Both U21, so I wouldn’t come to any conclusions atm that Fienhage or anyone will be at reserve just yet
  9. Like you say they are cheap. You point out the problem yourself which I stated. The whole economics of it for someone running a sport. You can’t sell seats a bit further away for the same price someone down the road is selling seats right up near the action. If you are Arsenal or selling tickets for The Rolling Stones you can maybe get away with selling tickets with a poor view. But you also have far more tickets with a good view
  10. Yeah, that was a big problem. It was like they were trying to stretch the meeting out over the whole day. Good to hear they seem to have improved that
  11. I like the early Rolling Stones stuff, but wouldn’t call myself a Rolling Stones fan. Just like I used to watch Road Racing in the Barry Sheene days particularly the GB v USA Easter series, but wouldn’t consider myself a Road Racing fan
  12. Cloppenburg on my birthday might also be worth considering. My girlfriend has friends who run a hotel in the area and has been on about visiting.... Scheeßel though, isn’t far away. But my visit there and two tries visits to Mulmshorn bored me to tears
  13. I mean he has been running his team in the Bundesliga for some years and tends to have decent foreigners. Has even sponsored one or two top riders in the GPs.Ulamek I think was one Then just a week ago stated foreign riders have no club feeling. Just turn up for the money and often don’t care and don’t do a good job. He is a bit of a hot head. He I think employed Marvin Sekula as rider and seemed coach for his son. But had an on track bust up and threw a few punches so it was reported
  14. The trouble is who in their right mind would plan a multi use stadium with football and speedway. ? As said the viewing for your main market is poor. Then the way speedway goes who would make a plan for a sport that might run 2,3 or.4 years then disappear for a decade etc then make another shot comeback. Better to run with two stable sports that can better use the facilities. That is generally how football plan stadia now. As I said elsewhere Millwall planned for the New Dwn to be used for concerts etc which better fit a football stadium that a Motorsport. Football stadiums are generally in built up areas anyway and a Motorsport would meet problems with residents. Who wants extra planning problems ? Football and Rugby or Hockey etc makes sense. Maybe horse racing and speedway more so. But I now see horse racing coming under scrutiny in the States by protesters. Just like Greyhounds are in the UK
  15. Yeah, but we aren’t talking about the 70s. It’s like comparing Wembley in the 1940s with today...
  16. And you have to sell that ‘but further away’ to fans. Today football is generally the top sport and yet you would want those fans out at a disadvantage to a lesser sport ? Why should they then pay good money for a poor view ? It just doesn’t work like that anymore. People expect a good stadium with a good view and a certain standard of facility nowadays like decent toilets Doesn’t sound like a good business strategy to give potentially your main source of income the poor standards, when probably just down the road another club is offering something better
  17. Be interesting to see how the team pans out, seeing as Frank Mauer was criticizing foreign riders as mercenaries and wanted it to be a training ground for German riders
  18. Let us know nearer the time and we can meet up
  19. Yeah I just saw that Jari Mäkinen posted the calendar. Is he doing Long Track now ?
  20. We had it all before....changing the regs so they could use a Polish speedway track. Didn't last long from memory
