You might well have to find another alternative. Think Austria are cancelling all sports event with over 100 indoors and 500 outdoors. The Austrian Ice Hockey League have announced they are closing the season early at the q-final stage and there won't be a Champion this season....and Austria are checking people crossing the border from Italy for fever... https://kurier.at/sport/coronavirus-regierung-stoppt-sport-grossveranstaltungen/400776818

Interested to know who the ‘many’ countries are that are making political decisions, rather than taking advice from Health experts ? One of the worlds leading experts is advising the German government and has been at the news conferences with the Health Minister https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/03/mutations-can-reveal-how-coronavirus-moves-they-re-easy-overinterpret Also reading the ‘current opinion’ of Sir Patrick Vallance , what he say’s is and this is important and what you leave out, is that it MAY be less likely, not that there ‘is less risk’

It is very flexible, but I would say signs are it could well be called off with the rapid spread of the virus and the pressure that one country after another are taking radical action..... https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2020/03/number-of-dutch-coronavirus-patients-rises-to-321-no-school-for-thousands/ See there is now one of those FB posts encouraging people to donate their ticket money and not ask for a refund, because Inzell 2021 might be in danger if you ask for your money back.........
-
They are looking at a solution on what to do for those with tickets, but ask people to wait for information rather than bombard them with emails etc

Inzel is off !!!

The important thing there is the bit about Premier League think they might have to play in an empty stadium within 2 weeks o so depending on the situation. Sure they can get away with it as can F1 and some other sports. I doubt speedway could though
-
Has an inevitability about it. He has just passed the pressure onto the local politicians and of course local promoters. Will have to see what happens over the next couple of days with football etc
-
See there is a bit of panic about Inzell, after the Health Minister recommended all events with more than a 1,000 people attending should be cancelled !! https://www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/coronavirus-spahn-grossveranstaltungen-1.4836673

Not sure how that works. If I am at the Docs I have one person sitting next to me on the right and one on the left. Ok I might pick up a magazine that many people have touched but apart from that no real contact. If I am at a concert or football game I have a group behind me, group in front of me, people next to me on both sides, plus all those squeezing past to go to the toilets or get food etc and queuing to get in and out But what I heard was as long as you weren’t in an area infected then a local concert or cinema visit etc wasn’t as dangerous as in international event.. But a trip to the supermarket or on the tube is just as innocuous or dangerous, depending on your outlook. The thing is, it is what is essential ? Doctors visits and jobs are, leisure to an extent not so, although obviously people work in the leisure industry as well. But we tried to book a table at a restaurant and it was full, so not everyone is panicking and staying at home

Might be wrong but I thought Briz stood for Brisbane.... now that is quite a bit of hassle if they have to go from Brisbane to the Russian embassy in bloody London to get a visa. Not the sort of trip you can do during your lunch break

Think North Rhein Westfalia is most affected, which probably isn't a surprise considering the large population there. But Hessen, where you are heading also has 12 confirmed cases. I think here is the whole of North Germany, i.e Hamburg Bremen,Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern there aren't as many. 6 or 7 I think... Update :24 now in the north, 5 in Hamburg
-
That is true. I think some villages/towns in Germany have more cases than some Cities. Not 100% sure, but Hamburg had 1 case. And that was someone who lived outside and worked in Hamburg. So he sort of got counted twice at one stage, both for Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, where he lives

New speedway club in Germany ?
iris123 replied to iris123's topic in International World of Speedway
I agree with you on the bike bit. Think they are going to look at the vote as to whether it is needed(legal)or not. Been a few in Hamburg on various topics plus a referendum on the hosting of the Olympics which went against the politicians and business people who wanted it -
But look at the size of Germany compared to Hong Kong Airport and double the amount is nothing even if you take the whole of Hong Kong into account. By those numbers you would certainly have more chance of coming into contact with the virus in HK

Who can say ? As I posted yesterday fans from Milan are banned from traveling to Turin today for a match, but obviously the players from Milan aren’t ...... But there are some cyclists stranded in the Middle East somewhere and were thinking of going on hunger strike !!! And hoping the press could put pressure to allow them to carry on their season ....

And over the past few years there have been shortages of vaccines anyway.......
-
Exactly. A prediction, r as I said, guess.......and vaccines are regularly updated/changed as the flu mutates.....
-
You are talking about the flu as if it is one stable disease, which it is not. There are a number of different 'flu's' and vaccines have to be regularly found for new variants. Plus it is generally guess work as to which flu to vaccinate people with beforehand.....

New speedway club in Germany ?
iris123 replied to iris123's topic in International World of Speedway
The track that used to exist, just 10 minutes drive from me ran into problems with the neighbours way back in 1931 or so, due to noise.Although at its peak it was running 2/3 times a week, plus training most other days. So nothing new even here. Stralsund used to (not sure about recently) have to have a 2 hour break due to the German mid-day rest, ruling. So they tended to have racing or practice in the morning then the 2 hours and then start again..... Tbh if I was one of the sceptics, revving up 1 bike wouldn't be enough, seeing as during a meeting there would be 4 of them racing around, so I am not sure they are doing enough. But as stated before, the track is to be situated in a bowl and then a barrier built as well, which will dampen a lot of noise. Just think it is going to be a battle to win the majority over -

Seems they had a meeting with locals to judge feeling and try to inform them of what is planned. Place was packed with about 60 local residents, who were mostly against the new project . Fear of noise and traffic. When the new promoter said the track was well out of town, there was a roar of laughter from some, as the track is just 1 km away !!! Not a good start in trying to gain people’s trust. But they will have a meeting on 14 th where a bike will be started up and people will be able to judge for themselves. Well that is the hope. Also talk of having a vote of the residents as to allowing the project to go ahead. Hmmm I have my doubts about this now
