Can understand your question, because it is one that immediately sprang to mind when I heard it on the radio yesterday. Haven't done any research into the reason. I just guess they are hoping the numbers are much lower and most people can stay home themselves and look after the kids. I am wondering if they are coming up with a lot of panic ideas that haven't been thoroughly thought out

Online shopping ? Supermarkets deliver to your door here at least My ex-girlfriends father is also nearly 80 and has a psychological problem with being around a lot of people which means he has trouble shopping. So has for years had most things delivered to his flat

Not sure which country it was, but people will be fined and possibly imprisoned if they ignore. Maybe the UK goes down that route maybe not. But I imagine like a lot of these things like not feeding the birds and attracting rats, very few people get fined and even less imprisoned....

No.Hasn't it been said enough times, you shouldn't pack the children off to the grandparents ? I have heard it said a number of times. Maybe it is only in Germany they are giving out good advice though. I can't always remember which source or country have given out certain advice All I can say, is that here they have closed schools but have emergency places open so you can take your children there. It is no good closing schools and then having emergency workers having to stay home to look after children. They are supposed to only be used for emergencies though and not every tom, dick and harry dropping their children off. At the same time, they are legally obliged to take in children if the parents insist

It is the same as people who are banned from driving. Some stick to the ban some don’t. The thing with this is, it is obviously more evident who is not sticking to it..

Nobody said it does

Believe what you want, but why do you think every country is giving advice to wash your hands regularly and thorpughly ? Because if someone sneezes into their hand and then touches something and then you come along a couple of minutes later and touch the same surface then rub your eye or pick your nose, it is highly likely you will get the virus as well...., which is why people are being advised not to shake hands and why they are now opening tube Twain doors automatically in many cities rather than having people press the button themselves.... Anyway, read the NHS advice. They say they don’t even know how it is spread. Plus similar viruses are spread by cough droplets..... think you need to give your head a wobble https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ plus here is how long cough and sneeze droplets can stay active in the air. And you think only the people on either side will be affected once someone is seated in his place https://www.sciencealert.com/bacteria-in-your-coughs-and-sneezes-can-stay-alive-in-the-air-for-up-to-45-minutes?ignore_amp I actually Heard- it was 5 minutes, but even if that was specific to coronavirus, 5 minutes in a packed stadium is a long time....

Rubbish. If he sneezes or coughs he could affect all those in front of him....plus if he sneezes whilst in the queue to get in he affects all those around him, then sneezes whilst queueing up for a burger or beer, all those. Then sneezes or coughs on the way out all those without any visits to the toilet. And that is only if there is one among those 60,000. What if there are two or three affected......

Is it something to do with covering themselves legally from say the tv contract? If they call things off then they have to pay out. If it is a government call they don’t ? Same as if I have a hotel booked or concert ticket and don’t turn up out of fear I am liable and get no refund. If the concert or hotel calls off, I do

At the moment there are only 26 cases in Latvia. One of the safest counties to be in I would think. Although they might not like foreigners potentially bringing it in.... and we have to believe that is an accurate figure
-
But you are surely going to have the case of teams missing more than one rider even at short notice. How is the BSPA going to cope with 4 or 5 or even a whole team being in isolation ?

It is an interesting point about sponsors. Plus tv who have paid out for a football season etc and then there might not be one. Plus fans have paid out for a tv package and they can’t watch any football or rugby or whatever....

Bars , restaurants, concert halls and even museums etc will be closed. Little point going even if you could drive over the border unless you want to look at the countryside and be alone -
As I said on the other thread I have seen a report on people going to one test center, obviously feeling unwell and having to wait outside for hours and then being sent away, which I wouldn’t call efficient. But have nothing to compare it with, so no idea whether it is better or worse than elsewhere. Though seeing Trumps press conference last night it does sound like Germany is better than the US. He or one of the others stated the US can test 15-20,000 per day for 200,000,000 population and Germany have stated they can test 20,000 for 80,000,000. But again it is all in theory I think if the cases are well spread out.At the moment there are regions with a lot of cases and some with few

Yes, Daniil is the new champ Would have thought at least the quali in Landshut is in danger. Maybe they can have both in Latvia, which doesn't seem too affected atm. But the whole thing is going to get worse before it gets better

Heerenveen off !! As I said inevitable and only a matter of time
-
Aren't you supposed to do that anyway ? Generally you are licensed for a certain capacity and should count people in to avoid going over the limit. Failure to do so can result in a fine or loss of license

New speedway club in Germany ?
iris123 replied to iris123's topic in International World of Speedway
The noise test has been postponed !!! Due to the recommendation from the local authorities that only essential meetings should be held whilst the Corona virus is spreading, the club has decided to postpone the test. No new date has been arranged On the face of it, it seems ott that an outdoor noise test for some local residents has been postponed, when I doubt 500 or a 1,000 people will turn up, but I guess they know best -
Since I posted the link on Monday the number of cases in the Netherlands has almost doubled.......they are reacting slowly !! https://www.dutchnews.nl/

Not a bad suggestion with the livestream. Maybe possible. All I know is James Blunt had a gig in Hamburg last night and of course had to be behind closed doors, so instead of just cancel, he played the gig and there was a free livestream for anyone who was interested. Not sure, by reckon they could have coded it for those who had paid for tickets

It is only a matter of time, no matter what the press guy said a couple of days ago

Say’s if everyone demands their money back then it looks gloomy for the future
