Words of wisdom. We never would have guessed . Thanks

Strip it down to the bones. Get rid of the no-hopers like France and Finland and ask El Presidente in Belarus if he will put on a weekend of racing in Minsk, seeing as he thinks it's all a load of old rubbish and they have started the football season with the public in attendance. No offence meant, but desperate times ask for desperate measures. SON one day and a GP the next Sasha Lukaschenko is yer man

Maybe needs a re-think then on the crowds they attract nowadays ? Not everyone can earn when only hundreds are coming through the gate.....
-
Well it is obviously not going to happen on the dates released. It is just a matter of whether it will happen at all, where and when- I guess atm the FIM can't answer any of those questions

Taking a wild guess, it is down to the money, if you look at other sports, it is the athletes in a lot of cases that have forced the hand of the authorities. Lewis Hamilton kicking up a fuss. Football clubs kicking up a fuss with players not wanting to play in some countries eventually forced the hand of EUFA and local leagues. Now athletes as individuals are saying they won't compete at the Olympics and slowly governing bodies and now Canada as a country are trying to push the IOC ino making the right decision......

In a sense it doesn't matter what 'some regions' have done. We are talking about speedway here and in a lot of regions they don't have speedway The things that matters is the hardline region who are leading the way with strict rules is Bavaria........at least for this thread that has some relevance. Plus you not only have to have the ban lifted, you also have to have the borders re-opened. Especially considering Italy and France are due to ride here. Two countries badly hit by this virus......

All depends on what Boris has planned. If it is like here in Germany then there are certain exceptions, such as just going out for a walk or walking the dog or helping someone who can't go out. So you helping someone out with their dog would fall into two categories there. I wonder if Boris is looking at an exception for the great crumpet hunt ?

It is, I think an important point that the airlines will be in chaos once this all ends, some might not even exist. And of course it will probably get back to something like normality in one country before another. So riders jetting around from one country to another isn't going to happen anytime soon. Let alone fans. International speedway is going to take a big bashing this year

Will the premiership start on time?

To be positive back in 1929 the season at Hamburg dirt track only started in mid-July and they managed to fit in over 40 meetings before the season ended -
Funny, as I did mention on another thread that the Star could be hit by the season delay and was told it wouldn’t by a couple of ‘experts’ as most sales are subscription

Potterin is potty. Came out with a load of old rot a few days ago, so don’t worry. Sure there is more to come before all this blows over

There are though 4 other coronavirus es that have been around for a few years, but don’t have the same death rate as this new model. Well that is what one German expert said on tv. Plus all the other viruses going round....

Not sure on the situation in the UK, but know from experience of a meeting in Denmark. The medical cover is only necessary for the public, not the sportsmen. In this case speedway riders. Was a meeting being run and a rider had an accident and the ambulance had to leave and it took ages for it to return and the promoter had the choice of calling the meeting off, as they had no floodlights and it was going to get dark, or ask the public to leave and carry on the meeting without medical cover....of course I guess the riders have to agree, but that was the law

No speedway until end of April at least. A review will be held middle of April. That is all.....

Seem to have gone awol, since my post with some info But here is even more and events seem to have turned against your opinion anyway..... https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20200317-covid-19-how-long-does-the-coronavirus-last-on-surfaces

Just going by what Phil Rising has stated and I guess if anyone should know, he does.

Not sure about bspa or fim, but surely speedway star, which is already in difficulty must be heading for big problems. It makes most of its money from track sales, and they just ain't going to happen for ages

Apparently Inzell have sent out emails to ticket holders with a few choices, in the hope that most choose to use their tickets next year. Saying it would be impossible to refund every ticket. So far as I see, most that have answered have taken their recommendation

Sky in Germany last week announced they would be showing the Bundesliga and the 2nd division on Sky News for free !!! So far of course there hasn’t been a game played, but I wondered how those that had paid out for the subscription channel would feel ? Would only be showing the ‘conference’ though, which is swapping around the games as the action happens It was to help out so that people didn’t turn up at stadiums as happened last week with Mönchengladbach v Cologne when thousands turned up despite it being played behind closed doors

I personally don't understand all the fuss. Some of it,ok. But children aren't badly affected at all as far as I know. So let them carry on their education. Maybe you'd have to stop certain teachers from attending if they have underlying problems and you would have some staffing problems. But as long as the children aren't visiting grandma and granddad, that should be one problem we don't have to deal with. Isolate the kids from the eldery,as they might have the virus without showing any symptoms. But closing schools seems to cause more problems than it solves imo

He is obviously different. He hasn't worked since he was 30-40 because of his problem and when I first got to know him used to spend hours mucking around with electronic stuff. Building little units with no real purpose just to have blinking lights etc or he'd make lights that went on when you opened the wardrobe. Then when computers got going he was right into them. So I guess it was right up his street to get into home shopping I certainly wish you both all the best in these difficult times
