  1. who are the vikings of the south then
  2. Is no.12 S.Colvin with 0pts? Not looking too good for Barth just before the G.P
  3. No its not true They did show a meeting on Turkish tv in about 77 Think it was World Best Pairs from Yugo But dont know if it started any interest in Turkey
  4. Do know that Thomas Stange was in the Bahnsport Aktuell the other month stating his wish to ride in "England"(maybe he has heard about Wales ).He is riding today in Krsko,so might be interesting to see where he comes in the placings. Was out for most of last season after a crash and stated his main aim for the season was to get through injury-free.All he needed was a contact in Britain
  5. can get in there through the Unknown riders thread i started i hope.not too good at this. I see after Andrew was criticised by Ivan he claimed he had overtaken more riders in his short career than Mauger had in his rather longer one Cheeky bugger
  6. think there are already Polish riders qualified.no need for wild card
  7. Certainly good that he is trying to get more experience, but i would place Sönke Petersen ahead of Loof.If he is still with Brokstedt that is
  8. Was riding for Swindon at the last meeting when the Dons finished in 91,so must have been the year later Put a few pics on www.community.webshots.com/user/maccattack
  9. Maybe Sweden could have done with a few extra fans by using a German as a wild card
  10. www.speedway.org has an incomplete lineup.look under Neues or Termine
  11. Its definitely a shame when young riders have to sit on the sidelines because of these rules we have in speedway As Gerd Riss said in BSA its hard to make good progress with only 20 meetings a year
  12. Young Sunbrite Lions vs. The Wallabies ,Hackney sept 12 1986 A.Silver 14+3b.points A.Galvin 14+3b.p P.Thorp 16 M.Dugard 10+6b.p J.Luckhurst 6 G.Havelock 8+1 A.Stevens 0 N.Tatum 6 Admitedly against a poor Aussie side but Silver and Galvin were only beaten in race 1 by Steve Regeling When was Andy riding for Eastbourne then? The only time i went to speedway between 91 and 2002 was 95 Eastbourne vs Bradford and he wasnt in the team
  13. One of my favourite riders when he was at Hackney.Didnt progress as well as i thought he would.Saw him ride for Eastbourne in95 and in the programme it mentions he had a "couple of confidence-sapping seasons",before joining them.At the time he only had an average of 3.72
  14. There was also speedway for a short period in Turkey.Think they showed a pairs meeting from Yugoslavia on t.v which started interest for a while in the late 70`s.Turkish champ was Fastih Engin and runner up was Terin Avtahim
  15. Must say that i always remember him with the long flowing locks, but looking back in my photo collection he went through hairstyles like Beckham
  16. I went to the Junior Championship at Canterbury in `85,won by Carl Blackbird. The line up included Silver,Andy Smith,Galvin,Simon Cross,Gary Havelock and Jamie Luckhurst.Add to that Martin Dugard,Joe Screen ,Loram and a bunch of youngsters at Eastbourne. What with Kelvin Tatum and Simon Wigg who were a few years ahead and at the time i really thought England were going to dominate speedway for a decade at least. Its never easy to tell how youngsters will develope of course and i guess to get 2 World Champs from that bunch plus the Longtrack titles as well makes it one of the best if not the best generation but the trophy cabinet isnt as full as could be expected. And out of them i would have imagined Andy might have gained a major title or 2.
  17. Remember seeing his rise from Rye to Arena and then Swindon, but as i stopped going to speedway when the Dons finished dont know how his career developed.Would have expected him to still be around.Hope there isnt a sad tale to this but am interested to know how he did.
  18. Jan Gravningen and George Major were also quite good
  19. I thought the GP`s had to be held in big stadiums as well as big cities 15,000 capacity isnt that big.Excuse my ignorance on the matter ,is it always so poorly supported in Sweden?what do they get for a league match?
  20. Must say he has impressed me so far .So have Wölbert,Smoli and Bartz.Schade that Danny and Smoli were in a different competition to Matze and Hefe on Saturday. It would have been good to see them all race together. Was a bit disapointed with Limberger at Brokstedt, last year he was really flying there until he fell. With this rule that the reserve rider must be given 2 rides most other teams are at an disadvantage but at Brokstedt,Güstrow just gave Möller one ride then put Danny in He outscored the other 3 reserves together.Droßmann is a poor reserve for Brokstedt,i guess Sönke is too good for reserve? Think your 4 teams are correct for the final Do you know which team Hefe is riding for ?Is it correct he is riding individual meetings for Güstrow, but not in the team?
  21. someone has posted the results on the german forum Pavlic 5pts
  22. Kryszaniek? lol Krzyzaniak but I must say that's a hard surname to write if don't speak Polish and only heard it. No wonder we cant get used to polish names they are always changing Seen on the polish videotext,e.g Jasona Crumpa
  23. Can i just take this opportunity to welcome you and your fellow country folk into our european union Dont know the result that your looking for though
  24. Diedenbergen Miskowiak 11(3,2,3,3,0) Riss 8(2,3,1,ef,2) Stange 5(0,2,3,0) Kroner 3(1,0,2,ef) Dilger 2(2,0) Güstrow Karlsson 15+3(3,3,3,3,3+3) Pingel 7(2,1,2,0,2) Mell 8(1,3,0,3,1) Möller Nonstart Knakowski 7(1,1,1,1,3) Parchim Kugelmann 10(3,0,2,2,3) Hamill 12+2(2,3,3,2,2+2) Schultz 11(2,2,2,2,3) Diener 1(1,0) Bartz 3(0,1,2) Neuenknick Pape 0(f) Swist 7(3,1,1,1,1) Lowicki 3(1,f,0,1,1) Limberger 3(0,2,f,1) Shäfer 4(0,ef,3,1,ef) Güstrow definitely have a trump card with Knaki as reserve.
