I would say that Ronnie Moore was the best rider in the world for a few years and had the talent to be the best for longer but lacked the determination of,say Mauger. As for Briggo he won the title while the rest were there,he wasn`t waiting for the others to "disapear"

Great site. Were some fantastic riders at your club over the years,i remember the Owen brothers fondly. Also the proud owner of an Ivan Mauger/newcastle rosette Where is the Cribb topic though, aint found it yet

Once you know english and a bit of german you almost know danish as well keep getting mistaken for danish as people are not sure about my accent.most say danish or dutch maybe i say ya,ya a lot but its definitely "o.k" that gets them.do danish people say o.k a lot as well?

Thanks a bunch But not too much Deutsch as i`m from London,i just happen to have the misfortune of living in Germany
-
Only if you are talking about the places themselves and not the teams. But you are correct ,Reading is better than Newport
-

He is one of the greats of 2nd League racing ,no doubt.Maybe Backtrack will do something about him Just from what i remember he was still extremely good in conditions where other riders were struggling a bit
-
Yeah, was tempted to do a 2nd Division best 7 and Ferreira would have to be in there If we were talking about best 7 on a soggy sawdust laden track Shazzies unc would make it as well

U21 World Championship Qualifier
iris123 replied to f-s-p's topic in International World of Speedway
An open question, maybe Tomasz can answer .Why do the scandinavian riders seem to have their own quali`s but the rest of the world is thrown together? Are they getting prefferential treatment or are they too strong for the rest.Have they got better representation on the governing board.I`m interested to know -

so did you acknowledge your source I`m not getting at you Tomasz,i see your point.Only i`m always seeing questions from you on web-sites asking for details of meetings, who`s riding in what ,what meetings are you holding.I was surprised to see a question from you even in the ghost town that is the Ludwigslust web site Surely even you don`t mention all your sources -
Qualifying round Junior WC,Abensberg,31st May
iris123 replied to Darija's topic in International World of Speedway
well done to the 2 german lads.Tobias Kroner looked like he was flying.pity Danny Knakowski wasnt fit ,i would have given him a good chance of getting through as well @ German Speedway Fan And Tomasz was there asking for the results of the semi`s and final -
won less than Mirac ,so i see the reasoning And i guess the Danish side would be during a period when they were all talking to each other, not threatening to take out a British license, not being dropped by the manager,etc.....

And 8,500 attended

results of final Billy Hamill Peter Karlsson Niklas Klingberg Steve Johnston Chris Louis Ronnie Pedersen Dont know the exact figure but the crowd was pretty big and lively.Unfortunately the racing was pretty processional Have to say apart from all the wheelies the sidecars and the quads provided better entertainment. Both Danny Knakowski and Fritz Wallner crashed in pre-race training and pulled out after a few unconvincing rides

Danny Knakowski fell while doing a practise lap at Teterow. He had 3 races in the meeting finishing last in each before pulling out.Hope he has recovered in time for monday -
was manager for a few years around `88!Next time you see him ,ask him if is still listening to Mungo Jerry
-
Didn`t he manage a team called Eastbourne at one time? Surprised you still talk to him
-
He did have quite a bad injury in 73 which kept him out for most of the season if i remember. Was definitely a great rider but there were at that time a lot of great riders and a few superstars. As Steve Dixon said Neil Streets engine gave Crumpie an extra boost for a while and maybe if the World Championship was held in the early part of that season they might have both made the rostrum Would say Jason is one of the top 3 riders in the world ,not sure i would have said that about pop`s

Just to make it clear it`s Mathias Schultz Given the name a bit of a polish twist,eh? You will hopefully be hearing more from him in the future best get it right
-
Just seen that Marian Kreklau is going to be riding his Ice Speedway bike at Güstrow this weekend.Brought to mind Brucie riding his bike at various venues and breaking the track record(unofficially)at most or all.Anyone see him in action?
-
Probably find him on a platform at Crewe jotting down the numbers of the passing trains All that"first team to win an Inter League 4TT round without actually providing a race winner in heat 3 "
-
Absolutely outrageous What did he say to deserve that then No,just wondering as i`m rather of the opinion that people react differently in different environments .So that someone who might have been considered a "rowdy" at the Den would have behaved quite reasonablly next door at the speedway. Was just wondering at the make up of the crowds at what can only be described as deprived areas of London even now.Was also wondering ,sure i read, maybe in your book that speedway struggled when it was re-introduced because the old supporters had moved away.Is there any evidence to back this up.Must say when i first went to Arena by train from Fenchurch St was astonished at the amount of housing estates the train passed through.Never seen anything like it,so the upheaval on the other side of the Thames seemed considerably more yet i thought West Ham had good crowds
