  2. tmc, thanks for the issue.Seems like it arrived here on the continent before some at home One minor moan about an otherwise excellent publication, the ex-longtrack and speedway world champ is called Egon Müller(or Mueller) but not Muller surely we can spell it right in England by now

  4. Hope your knickers aren`t in a twist
  5. err,i think you want to read Shazzy`s post that K.M has quoted and it says "the last apprentice hangman at Tyburn

The suggestion links in with Norbolds other thread about why people don`t go any more.Hackney are no more and probably the vast majority of Hackney fans don`t go any more.To form a team in name only wouldn`t attract all those fans back for one meeting and regular fans would know it as a sham team.Wimbledon done it before with a Wembley team and it didn`t attract loads of Wembley fans(not many more than were already comming, any way)
  7. Spoke briefly with Egon Müller today and he told me he rode once at Plough Lane.I can`t remember seeing him there.Remember once while he was at Hull Briggo was comming (i think for Tommy Jansson memorial second-half and he said he would bring Egon along as well but he didn`t turn up for some reason.Anyone remember seeing him at wimbledon?

Also,Norbold. The pics of Hedgie 2 and Norman Hunter in that sash body colour when was that(1963?) as i have the same on of T.Hedge and one of Simmo that looks to have been taken at the same time
  13. Was looking forward to it anyway but especially now.Tommy Jansson was my first and probably only speedway hero.Obviously they are all heroes, but after his death i can`t say i ever had the same feelings for another rider. His family,as all who loose someone must have been devastated. Anyway, thanks for a great mag, keep up the good work

I think for the sake of balance a Wimbledon album should be added, with no less than 30 pics btw isn`t it Chalcraft, not Chalcroft
  15. Well i thought Hoskins was only involved with West Maitland in a very minor role and can be discounted as having started speedway even there.Interesting about Elders, always thought there must have been some tour from one country to the other or someone took the idea back a bit like Wills here
  16. When and where was the first speedway then?I thought Reg Fearman had tracked some meetings as far back as circa 1916 in Oz.Was always wondering how Americans were over here at the start though
  17. There is a Bakery near Fredericia station that is almost worth visiting without going to a speedway meeting
  18. Seen the line up for saturdays meeting and Brokstedt include Niels K. Iversen as Charlie Gjedde isn`t back yet Danny Knakowski should also be making his return after a month out
  19. we are still talking about speedway are we
  20. You have 7 Eleven`s in Denmark Here in Hamburg it`s more like 7 Eights, everything apart from the Reeperbahn closes early(compared to London that is) Sundays are murder, sometimes i sit here and dream of Sainsbury`s and especially M&S food section
  21. Thanks Steve, and was she that good?
  22. rider ever.Going through an old U.S speedway mag it states that Bobbi Hunter "probably the best....."will ride again in 1985.Tantalizing snip but offers no more info, anyone know anything about her?Is this typical american hype or was she racing and beating some of the top americans at the time Also anyone know anything about Jessee Finch(top junior at the time)
  23. Plough Lane, especially on Internationale and B.L.R.C Div 2 days The only times i didn`t mind spending ages in a queue
  24. Hi Mauro, thanks for that.Saw someone question how he was riding for Italy on another website and as no-one answered there thought i would ask here
